Quiet Want

I met a terribly handsome artist,

A short while ago,

Wrapped in silk and print

Pretty patterns across brown

Bar floors and are reminders

Of the summer but how it feels

More like summer now than it did

Back then...

And now my head is buzzing

Gazing into eyes

With smudged dark circles

Deepening his gaze

In the soft glowing light

Of ever-warming sheets

In the steady flow of midnight.

Thoughts of wine and whiskey

And a sensual touch here and there

From the delicate hands of a

Sweet gypsy boy with sweet gypsy eyes...

Oh the focus of what passions us...

Lined up on the very ceiling

Ready to decipher...

Lips and tongue and fingers crossed

Fingertip touch like that of a feather...

And the faltering of breaths like those

Of tempted star crossed lovers

Midnight oil-burning under the covers

Keeping lustful thoughts going

ever so close to each other

The hastening of heartbeats

Oh, what we are doing to one another!

Long hair tangled in a messy pile

On pillows aplenty...

tattoos writhing on perfect Skin

as perfect skin writhes on a flawed body...

Lying down on clouds of heady smoke

Like Aladdin in a foreign land

Like the carnival tent opening up...

Like Alice in front of the caterpillar

Head ablaze with trails of sensual thoughts...

Velvet dreams, they are...

As records play in the distance

And melodies make us reminisce

Times of old while the new and exciting

Are happening like fireworks

As lips feel like firecrackers

Touch electric and alive...

Slow hands speak softly

But with as much of a whimper as a

Cracked whip or a busted lip

I'll keep my lips sealed...
