a short one about high times

I lay down at the foot of the bed

To stare at my bright white ceiling

Where images grow from the floor and rise up

They swirl around great posts, the pillars of

My very mind…

Where I stare blankly at you too drunk to care

Too high to come down and who said I wanted to?

Maybe I will stay among the clouds

For eternity or as long as forever lasts

And in layman's lazy English speak

Frantically and empty-headedly until something Intelligent comes out of my mouth.

Perhaps then all these brilliant ideas

Will then come out of my cement block brain

And erase any contradictory comment that has

Flown out of my mouth as of late.

Perhaps I should kiss you as I lay there

To fill my mouth with something other than ideas

Words flowing in and out of the veins in my head

Words flow out of my mouth as I taste yours getting closer

Mindless sweet nothings...
