The whole of Osaka had nearly been destroyed by Amaris' rage alone, if not for Hanako's love for her birthplace; Japan would have been completely annihilated. During her youth, she subconsciously fortified the land her hometown rested upon to protect the ones she loved most in the world.
Amaris and Iria sat side by side in silence as they stared at the gawking humans. The front door slowly creaked open, which caused everyone to lift their heads in its direction. Amaris stood up in unison with Iria, they hesitantly peaked over the stone fencing. Hanako carefully shut the front door while glaring at Amaris, who smiled in return. Laura stopped before the barrier placed around Hanako's home. Amaris approached the barrier first with a smug expression and her arms folded over her chest.
"Little bird, you know how the Earth feels about you visiting your family." Amaris smugly spoke in a light tone.
Hanako scowled at her, "Apologize." She furiously ordered through gritted teeth.
"For?" Amaris chuckled as she glanced at Laura, who glared at her from behind Hanako.
Iria pinched the bridge of her nose in annoyance, "Amaris." She seethed.
Amaris rolled her eyes, "I apologize for nearly destroying your home." She grumbled before turning away from them with a blank expression.
"Thank you." Hanako said, she moved her hand over the barrier, which caused it to temporarily lower.
Amaris looked at Iria, who immediately scowled at nothing, "He has returned." She muttered to herself.
Laura stepped in front of Hanako with her arm out, "He smells like Agatha." She growled.
Return her to the Abandoned realm!
Amaris clicked her tongue in annoyance, "Iria open the gate."
Iria nodded her head before drawing a black circle in the air with her index finger. Laura picked up Hanako and threw her through the gate, which had been forced closed by another being from the Abandoned realm. Amaris raised her arms to shield herself from being struck. Yet, he appeared behind her and kicked her forward. Iria moved to strike the man, but he grabbed her by her arm and threw her over his shoulder. Laura's skin suddenly hardened with iridescent blue scales as she charged at the man. He struck her in the stomach with the palm of his hand, which caused her to let out an agonized roar. "Amaris, take the civilians to a safe area! Laura and I will subdue him!" Iria ordered while slowly standing up inside of a crater.
Amaris spread both her arms, she created a wall of golden fire to block their fight from harming the humans who had now begun to flee. She grabbed an old man before the ground swallowed them both whole. She gently placed him on the ground with a stoic expression.
"What are you?" He asked in awe as he stared up at her.
"I am Amaris." She casually answered in his dialect.
A young woman, most likely his daughter, quickly escorted him from the battle, he looked back as soon as Amaris stopped Laura's body from hitting them. Once Laura regained her footing after Amaris roughly placed her on the ground, they charged at the man in unison. Amaris’ wall of golden flames remained raised to trap the man.
"Amaris, Hanako is trying to return to the Normal realm!" Iria shouted as she defended herself from the man's attacks.
"She mustn't!" Laura shouted back over the sound of the ground splitting underneath their feet.
"What shall we do? We cannot simply use our full strength with humans still in the vicinity." Amaris clicked her tongue as she punched him through a massive piece of stone.
Open the gate.
Iria and Amaris both stopped fighting when they heard the Earth speak, "What?" Amaris sneered with a scowl.
"You said to return her to the Abandoned realm, which we did. What do you mean open the gate?" Iria snapped in frustration.
I command you.
Iria clapped her hands together, creating a wave of energy. Amaris pushed Laura out of the way so they would not be struck by Iria's deadly power. The man jumped into the air to dodge her power as well. Suddenly, Hanako appeared through the ground with a deranged expression. Amaris' face lit up with excitement while she lifted Laura up by her bicep. Iria immediately put more distance between her and the man by leaping backwards. Laura moved to help Hanako, but Amaris stopped her.
"Little bird," Amaris shouted, "your people come first."
Hanako chuckled darkly, "I know." She snapped her fingers, teleporting the lot of them to the middle of the Sahara.
Meanwhile, Osaka slowly rebuilt itself and erased any sign of damage they had caused.
The man scowled at her, "Wherever you send us, I will still slaughter you all." He growled.
Iria chortled, "Whomever you are and whatever power you wield, you are no match for our Hanako. If we fought you seriously, we would have had you six feet in the ground." She said while licking her lips.
Amaris chuckled, "Hanako, do not waste your time on this man. Agatha awaits." She sang.
Hanako smirked, "Are you suggesting I end this promptly?" She asked.
"Our little bird is truly something else." Amaris smirked, she stopped Laura from attempting to help Hanako again.
"Then I suppose I shall end this rather quickly." Hanako raised her hands as she summoned a massive wave of sand to rise from behind her.
The man watched her carefully as she sent the wave towards him. He stood still with a stoic expression. In an instant, he split the wave in half with his hands pressed together. Laura touched Amaris' arm, sending a chill up her arm. Amaris yelped while Laura raced forward to intercept the man's attack. He hardened the sand into the form of a blade, which he planned to use on Hanako. However, the blade pierced through Laura’s heart instead of Hanako. Amaris and Iria swiftly rushed forward to push the man away from Hanako and Laura. Hanako watched as Laura fell to her knees, the blade finally returned to its original form. Laura held her chest and looked over her shoulder with a weak smile.
"Forgive me, Hanako. It seems I can no longer save you from your corruption." Laura said before collapsing into the sand face first.
Hanako stared at Laura’s limp body in confusion as blood began to puddle around her body, "Why did you save me?!" She said roared angrily as she dropped to her knees and held Laura's body in her arms.
The Earth began to shake with rage and the skies turned the color of blood. Hanako let out an ear piercing scream as she cried for Laura to return. The still sand began to swallow everything in its path as if it had a mind of its own. Amaris and Iria jumped into the air in an attempt to avoid Hanako's wrath, but the sand chased them through the air.
"Amaris subdue Hanako, I will open the gate." Iria ordered as she punched the sand away from touching her.
Amaris nodded her head, vanishing in a column of golden flames. She appeared behind Hanako, who tightly held Laura's body close to her. She struck one of Hanako’s pressure points on the back of her neck with the side of her hand. The sand quickly settled once more and the man used this chance as his escape. Once she landed on the ground, Iria opened the gate. Amaris carried both Laura and Hanako through the gate with an annoyed expression. Iria followed, but looked behind her at the man, who appeared once again before the gate completely closed. Alice greeted them with a bored expression.
"What happened?" She questioned after Amaris had dropped both Hanako and Laura's bodies on the ground.
