"Before the Earth relied on the power of Gaia, it granted a pitiful human its power. However, thousands of years passed when it realized that the human had become corrupted by the evils of man. The human became greedy and selfishly used his gift to harm his people as well as the Earth. The Earth pleaded with the man to return its power, but he refused. It created Gaia out of desperation to subdue this man, she failed. The Earth forced the man into a deep slumber with the last of its energy; one he could not awaken from. It hid his body deep within itself. As time passed, the Earth changed, it forgot about the man and Gaia. Eventually, it learned of a human child with the gift of Love. A rare blessing bestowed upon her by the Gods themselves. The Earth watched her as she grew into a kind-hearted being. It decided she would be the one to be its final successor. While it focused on this child, it forgot about the man. Humans stumbled upon his sleeping body and somehow awoke him. He learned of Hanako's existence and hunted her like a dog. He killed her parents, her aunt and uncle, and her grandfather. In order to protect her, the Earth sent her to the Abandoned realm and forbid the man from ever leaving the Normal realm." Iria explained to them as they sat around a fire Amaris had made with her golden flames.
Alice hummed, "Now the man has killed Laura." She glanced at Laura's body with an empty look in her hazel eyes.
Amaris stared at Iria, "What do we tell Agatha?"
"The truth." Iria quickly answered while staring into the fire.
Alice hummed again, "Will she not be upset that you left without her permission?" She questioned in a bored tone as she tossed some twigs into Amaris' fire, which earned her a menacing glare from the otherworldly being.
"No," Iria grumbled, "she will understand that man must be stopped." Her eyes narrowed as she stared deeper into the flames.
Amaris blinked, "Once the sun rises, we will return to the Academy." She stated while ordering her flames to grow in size, which startled both Iria and Alice.
"Very well, but do not involve me in this. I have no desire to die by the hands of Earth's trash." Alice declared as she laid on her side with her right arm holding her head up.
"When Hanako awakens, she will attempt to return to the Normal realm. Do not allow her to until the Earth says otherwise." Iria ordered Amaris, who blinked with a bored expression.
"Shall we bury Laura?" Amaris wondered aloud as she laid on her back with her hands behind her head and her eyes fixated on the glittering stars above.
"No." Iria spoke in a curt voice with a scowl.
Amaris narrowed her eyes at the sky in suspicion, "And why not?" She asked.
"It does not concern you." Iria returned her scowl.
Amaris suddenly stood up, "Very well." She placed her hands in her pockets as she turned on her heel to leave.
"Where are you going?" Iria yelled after her.
"It does not concern you." Amaris retorted while opening a gate to the Normal realm.
Alice opened her eyes, "Amaris has friends in the Normal realm she visits often." She announced after the gate fully closed.
"How do you know that?" Iria narrowed her eyes at Alice in suspicion.
Alice avoided her piercing gaze, "I-it does not concern you. I am going to return to the Academy." She quickly stated before standing up and vanishing from their camp.
Iria glanced at Laura's body, "Forgive me, Laura. I have failed you, only defeating death will help you now." She mumbled to herself while caressing Laura's cheek with the back of her hand.
Suddenly, Hanako's hand reached out and grabbed Iria by her wrist. Her eyes glowed bright with violet rage and her grip tightened around Iria's wrist. Yet, Iria remained stoic despite the amount of pressure Hanako had used to crush her bones. Hanako slowly stood up with a malicious expression, which caused Iria to smile at her. They stared at each other in silence, until Hanako released her. Iria stood up while dusting off her clothes.
"I suppose I shall inform you that you are forbidden to return to the Normal realm until the Earth grants you permission. As of now, it is determining whether or not to allow you to face the man." Iria explained.
Hanako clicked her tongue in annoyance before punching the tree besides her, "Fine, but do not lay a hand on Laura. I am aware of your plans to revive her." She glared at Iria, who raised her hands in defense.
"Pardon me," Iria laughed lightly, "I shall stay far from her body. However, it is not my doing that will revive her, her will alone shall." She told her.
Hanako removed her fist from the tree, "She shall." She seethed venomously.
Iria forced a smile, "Of course." She eyed the gaping hole in the tree Hanako's punch formed, it completely closed.
She had grown stronger since their last mission. Perhaps, Amaris awakening had been the cause of her new found strength. Iria smirked to herself.
"Where is Amaris?" Hanako questioned, ignoring Iria's weird behavior.
"In the Normal realm, Alice informed me she is visiting a friend." Iria's face fell as she spoke.
Hanako's eyes narrowed, "How does she know that?" She growled.
Iria blinked, "Did you know that?"
Hanako turned away from her with a blank expression, "Yes."
"How do you know that?" Iria asked.
"Amaris is an odd being with an absurd amount of power. She could defeat that man in one strike, but it is not her destiny and she is aware of that. The Earth has ordered me to watch her every move without allowing my presence to be known. However, every time I watch her, she has noticed. This friend of hers is from the 1800s, she still looks as young as the day they met. Amaris visits this friend a few times a year. If I am incapable of defeating this man before she returns then you will have to. The Earth told me about you, you are a true monster. Perhaps you are even on par with Amaris. It deems the both of you a major threat to its people." Hanako laughed dryly.
Iria sighed, "I am not the same being as the younger me. Fighting has become pointless and I do not plan to lose control of myself. If this man defeats you before Amaris has returned, then I will gladly kill him. I owe the Earth a debt of gratitude." She mumbled to herself.
Hanako turned to face her, "Have you heard of Amari?" She asked.
Iria looked at the stars, "No." She looked back at Hanako, who had followed her gaze to the stars.
"Amaris reacted to Amari like she has heard that name before. She said its power is her power." Hanako hummed as she sat next to Laura's body.
Iria groaned, "The more we learn of her, the more I become confused." She admitted while sitting back down.
Hanako chuckled, "The Earth has yet to tell me why I must watch her. Recently, it told me something about Alice." She mumbled to herself.
"What did it tell you?" Iria questioned.
"Alice is from the Normal realm like me, but she is a genuine child of Tempus." Hanako looked away from the stars and back at Iria.
Iria immediately scowled, "Tempus children are worse than their father, they are greedy and selfish. If she is in our realm then that means she is after something. We must keep our eyes on her." She spat venomously.
Hanako laughed, "The Earth said the same thing, we must be alert around her at all times." She glanced at Laura.
"Do not inform Amaris, she will only make things difficult for us." Iria commanded, her eyes blackened for a few seconds before returning to normal.
"When will the Earth allow me to return to the Normal realm?" Hanako wondered aloud.
"I assume when Laura awakens." Iria spoke nonchalantly.
"Ah, yes. The Earth has taken a liking to her, which means you cannot touch her." Hanako smirked at her.
Iria rolled her eyes, "The Earth does not scare me, it fears me." She confidently stated while examining her nails.
"I do not, therefore if you lay your filthy hands on Laura, I will destroy you." Hanako seethed venomously with a menacing scowl, which only made Iria smile.
"I have no intentions of harming Laura," Iria sighed, "you have no idea what a monster her kind can be." She sang.
