I must be mad to dare writing this as it is a part of my secret and fear.
It all started in the year 2009 as I read Bram Stoker's "Dracula" and from Anne Rice "Interview with a Vampire" (great vamp books by the way). Since then I started to have pictures in my mind that inspired me to write and research about the figure Dracula (he really did exist in the 15th century in today's Romania). While reasearching Dracula for my first novel which I am still working on (but school hinders me from time to time) I noticed few "coincedental" similarities; others may call it destiny or fate but I say coincedence. For example Dracula grew up a part of his childhood abroad (as a hostage in the Ottoman Empire) and so did I (not as a hostage in south of Sweden) and thus learned another culture and language. Plan quickly something with disgusises, trying to outsmart the other (enemy) and remain cunning and cautious or even skeptical. He and I can speak German (I am half German and with Dracula he was a member of "The Order of the Dragon" where you only communicated in Latin or German). Have the knowledge in fencing and horse-back riding. He and I have trouble with understanding the Turks. The birth city from Dracula is Sighisoara, Romania and its seal is nearly, just nearly similar to the seal my grandfather has (from my mother's side); it has a plain blue background and filled with a big snow white castle, only the city's seal has a lion at the gate of the castle while my grandfather's does not and his seal was given by the French some time in the middle ages for a great act of courage and providing protection. I even have a theory that Dracula was born between 1. - 21. November 1432 while others guess between November and December in 1432. Why between 1. and 21. November? I had a bit of advantage because I was born in November and reasearched a lot in horoskopes about the personality and character. I see the fitting pattern that he was Scorpio and not Sagittarius due to his priority in justice and thus revenge of what occured in his past and can be easily be misunderstood. I know it sounds heartfelt but it is the truth about him. I never watched "Dracula - Untold" because the trailer made me already furious to watch, espesically the last half of it. For example his first wife's name is Ecatherina and not Elizabeth and to be most honest and direct I have my own imagination of how Dracula became a vampire that is why I am writing a story (Blood & Fire). Sometimes I notice from time to time small characteristic parallels when researching or trying to be in Dracula's shoes. Not saying that I like killing or like him! I seek for peace, equality and freedom. Even a few of my friends teased me that I am Dracula's wife or a vampire because I know all this stuff, have pale skin, am sensetive against the sun, am a night owl and last have good and fast reflexes due to few years of fencing. Luckily there are many things that holds Dracula and me far away in difference. He was a man and a prince while I am a woman of simple society. But still I can not stop thinking what if he would really did exist as a vampire, would he kill me because of my story or let me live? If letting me live, do I resemble his beloved first wife? I know it sounds absurd and maddening but I just can not help it. Although I am not the emo, horror-fan or other similar style. Not even a fan of vampires or Dracula but I have my interests from time to time. Although frightening and mysterious yet intriguing I must say. Mysteries and legends have always interested me and tempted to have my own theory as an answer or combine my thinking with philosophy.
