The four boys slowly walked out of the arena after getting some medical treatment.
"Did Rai and Raina not come today?" Karasu asked.
"They are in Celestial Star Academy for Raina's enrollment," Anas explained.
"Is water princess going to have a hard test like mine?" Echo asked.
"From what I heard, no. She just has to take a normal assessment test and the teacher isn't going to go hard on her," Anas replied.
"Don't worry, she is going to be fine," principal Agnus said as she floated above them, which startled them.
"Just focus on the tournament first, we also got more guards this time and security checks at the entrance," principal Agnus continued.
"By the way, who do you think will win?" Nex asked her.
"Hmm, I have my suspicions, but I don't want to put pressure on him," principal Agnus said.
"Come on, just a hint would do," Karasu said.
"Fine, just one hint. If I'd had to guess," she said, "I'd say the winner will be the one who acts instantly and knows when to hold back. The one who never runs away in fear—who always finds a way and turns the fight in his favor, who sometimes makes the impossible look easy,"
All the boys looked confused, but before they could ask any further, she floated away with a smirk.
"It's not a hint at all, it's just vague descriptions," Echo said, still confused.
"That's principal Agnus being herself," Nex replied.
"Did you figure it out yet, Anas?" Karasu asked him, but Anas was just mumbling to himself.
"Acts instantly, never runs away, always finds a way, sometimes make the impossible look easy? What? No, not..., right?" Anas continued to mumble.
"Let's just put that aside for now, it's probably nonsense," Nex said.
Anas snapped out of his thoughts.
"We have 40 minutes left, let's just go to the arena and rest," Anas said.
The four boys slowly walked to the arena, but as they got close, Anas felt a presence. He turned his head around, only to see nobody, but ordinary attendees.
"Is something wrong?" Echo asked, with Karasu and Nex also looking confused at Anas' sudden movement.
"Someone is here, looking at us. I have no doubt in my mind,"Anas said, worried for the worst.
"But no one is here..." Karasu said as he looked around.
"Must be invisibility or illusions, keep your guards up," Anas told them.
"I'll quickly jump to principal Agnus' position and alert her," Echo said as he dashed off.
The trio quickly ran to the waiting room and found Ms T at the door taking attendance for the competitors. They told her about the situation and asked her to warn Mr Blaze as well.
Minutes went by and Echo came back to the trio.
"I alerted her about the presence and she told us to regroup after the tournament to discuss the situation if nothing happens," Echo told the trio.
"The tournament is about to start in 5 minutes and it needs about 15 minutes to finish including the fight with prince Drake, so 20 minutes to act," Anas said after some calculations.
"Let's quickly end the first match and try to not harm each other too much. And I'm warning you not to go berserk," Anas continued and Echo nodded.
The first matches ended in seconds, the four boys were way above their grade. The first semi-finals match was Anas verses Nex. The crowed whispered, wondering who would win. People who attended the Starfall Festival remembered that Anas almost won, but they also knew Nex isn't weak.
The match started. Nex created giant bone arms and sent them towards Anas. Anas, unfazed, summoned swordfish and sent them at the joints of the arms, easily dislocating them. Anas followed that up with 3 of his sapphire sharks, but Nex made floating bone hands and caught them.
Anas detonated them, creating blue smokescreen and shot lances as he moved forward. Nex made a wall of bones, blocking the lances, he knew he has to apply pressure on Anas, so he made giant fists in the sky and dropped them. Anas dodged one after another, making spikes to stab the fists if he couldn't dodge. He flatten a spike into a pillar and launched himself over the wall as he created dolphins and aimed at Nex's legs.
Nex, barely reacting in time, created extra limbs and caught the dolphins by their noses. He extended those limbs out before they exploded, but he was then face to face with Megalodon. He tried to make Hydra, but his back had too many limbs, unable to make the heads. The Megalodon bashed into Nex and sat on him.
"Surrender, or get exploded," Anas told Nex, and he raised his hands up and surrendered.
In the stands, Principal Agnus leaned back in her seat, a satisfied smile on her face.
"Not bad, But he's still just a strategist. This match was a nail-biter, I don't know if he could beat either Karasu or Echo. Against raw power, strategy only goes so far." principal Dominic admitted.
Agnus chuckled at his comment.
"You'd think that. But Anas doesn't just plan— he acts when it counts. He never folds under pressure. He always finds a way. And sometimes, he makes it look easy." she paused, her smile widening slightly.
Dominic frowned. "You sound like you've seen this before."
"I've seen enough from him to be confident, what to bet again?" she replied, but principal Dominic declined.
Anas deconstructed Megalodon and helped Nex up.
"Good match, I should have thought ahead before acting," Nex said.
"No matter what, you would have lost in that situation. You were caught between a rock and a hard place," Anas replied.
They slowly walked back to the waiting room as the next match between Karasu and Echo was about to begin.
"Just give up bird, I have beaten you once already," Echo said mockingly.
"I'll make sure I will win this time, vibration," Karasu responded.
The match began, Echo immediately flailed one of his chains at Karasu. He tried to block with a tentacle, but the end of the chain whiped around it and cut Karasu's shoulder. Echo whipped his second chain, but Karasu shot a blood orb, exploding it in front of the chain and knocked it backwards.
Echo continued to move forward while sending his chains at the speed of sound. Karasu was keeping up with this pace, dodging and shooting blood orbs to block, but he was sick of playing defensive, so he created blood moons, shooting beams of blood at Echo. Echo dodged them, weaving through like it was a laser maze. But suddenly, blood tentacles wrapped around his arms. Before a beam caught him though, he pulled his arms close to his chest and tore through the tentacles. He then did a bicycle kick which compressed the air into a vortex ball and redirect one of the beams.
Echo, now impatient, ran at Karasu at full speed. He swung his chains and all the moons were blown up. Karasu activated Blood Rain, but Echo danced between each beam and did a backflip over one of the beams. However, he noticed that surrounding him were shrapnel bombs. As all of them exploded all at once, Echo was only able to blocked and dodge a few of the frags, but some were stuck onto his back. Before Echo could recover, all 7 beams from Blood Rain were centimeters away from his head.
"Well played, Karasu. I surrender," Echo said as dropped his chains.
The beams slowly dripped down on the floor.
"Now, who is the strongest now?" Karasu asked.
"Not you, duh. You really think you're going to win against sometimes happy? Don't make me laugh," Echo replied as he laughed at Karasu's question.
"The final match is between Anas and Karasu! This match will truly show does strategy beat out strength!" Principal Dominic announced.
The crowed cheered, most thinking Karasu would win, similar to what happened during the Starfall Festival, but some thought Anas would be the underdog and win.
Over on the stands, prince Drake was looking Anas and Karasu.
"They are interesting. But Anas is quite the black horse, passing into the finals" prince Drake commented.
"Do you think Karasu would lose this match?" King David asked him.
"I doubt it, I think Karasu would win. He is just overwhelmingly stronger than Anas," prince Drake explained.
"I don't think so big bro, I have seen his abilities first hand, and he dared to use a swear in front of dad, I bet 1000 platinum coins that Anas wins," princess Corolla said.
"And I bet my dragon scale sword that Karasu wins," prince Drake replied.
The match started, both Anas and Karasu don't have the energy to form their respective named attacks, so they had to rely on their basic attacks.
Anas pointed at Karasu, as he lifted up his finger, spikes came out from the floor, but Karasu jumped back, only getting a shallow cut on his leg. He shot blood into the sky, over the spikes and formed blood moons and shot beams at Anas while using the spikes as a shield.
Anas dodged the beams as he created sapphire lances that pierced through the moons. He deformed the spikes, only to see dozens of blood orbs behind it. Karasu shot them, but Anas learned from their previous fight and created a wall of spikes and blocked all the orbs and hidden shrapnels.
Anas deformed the wall and rained down swordfish on Karasu, but he created 8 tentacles to cut the swordfish. One of the tentacles opened its tip and fired a pressurized beam, although Anas formed a wall in front of himself, the beam chipped through and pierced his arm.
Anas quickly covered the wound with sapphire to stop the bleeding, but in doing that, he stopped his attack and Karasu was moving in on him. Anas pushed the wall towards Karasu, but he used a tentacle to boost him and leapt above the wall. Quickly, Anas surrounded Karasu with the dolphins, but Karasu made his scythe and created blood slashes, cutting each dolphin in half.
Before any of them exploded, Karasu made his armor. After the detonation, he came out of the attack unscathed. Right as Anas tried to form spikes underneath Karasu, he saw a feather made of blood fall in front of himself, as more fell down, Anas saw Karasu smiling. Anas realized too late to form a wall as Karasu shouted out,
"X-Raven!"
Just then, two massive blood ravens flew towards Anas and cut him with their talons, forming an X on Anas' chest before they each deformed into a puddle of blood.
Anas was breathing heavily, groaning with one hand on his new wound.
"Any last words before your defeat?" Karasu asked as he walked towards Anas, scythe in hand.
Anas paused to catch his breath.
"Yeah, I do," Anas said.
"Tidal Wave!" Anas chanted out. After hearing Anas' words, Karasu looked visibly annoyed.
Karasu dashed at Anas, but it was too late as sapphire blue whales riding on a sapphire tidal wave came at him, crushing him under the weight, his armor shattered as one of the whales hit him. Karasu fell at the sheer amount of force the attack carried as he laid on the ground, surrounded with figments of sapphire and glowing blue liquid.
Anas summoned lances at Karasu's face and he surrendered.29Please respect copyright.PENANApC0llwMnCa
