It was the next day and it was time for the second year breach of the Starfall Crown. Although it wasn't mandatory to show up, the four boys were there due to the attack of the pillar and principal Agnus wanted their assistance.
"Why would a pillar attack on its own? That doesn't make sense," Nex wondered.
"It could be Glaive testing us again. The three of us did almost die to one," Anas said, trying to make sense of the situation.
"Not impossible, but we first just need to protect the royal family and the crowd," Karasu said.
"Welcome everyone back to the Starfall Crown! Next up we have the second years fighting!" Principal Dominic announced.
"Just keep your guards up. We will just have to hold on for a few hours," Anas explained.
All four of them didn't know the second years that well even though the trio had a year to know them, so they are all don't know what to expect from any of the second years.
When Anas saw the teams from Celestial Star Academy, he was a bit disappointed.
"No one is special unlike Raina and Rai. Maybe above average at best," Anas said once he couldn't sense anything special from them.
However, as he saw the teams from Silvermoon Academy, one student stood out to him, and even Echo.
"That boy isn't normal, don't you agree, sometimes happy?" Echo asked.
"I couldn't have agreed more with you, a distinct repetition of a sound caused by sound waves bouncing off a hard surface," Anas replied.
The boy who they were looking at was Sen, he looked like an emo and dark figure with purple highlights in his hair.
"If he's that good, why isn't he in Celestial Star Academy?" Nex asked.
"From just first impressions alone, it has to be because he can't work in a team," Anas replied.
As Mr Blaze shot the firework, the match began and Sen immediately ran off without his teammate.
"Hey! Wait up!" Sen's teammate shouted, but Sen was already hunting for the other teams. He approached one of the Celestial Star Academy teams, eyes glowing purple, and purple ghosts came out from his finger tips like speeding bullets. The team barely blocked any, but before they could react, Sen covered his right arm with ghosts to form a claw and slashed at the two students, winning the battle.
"Damn, he is impressive, but he truly can't work in a team," Anas said as he looked on.
Sen quickly moved on to find the other teams and he rides a ghost horse for quicker movement. He then searched for the teams, only to find them engaged in a stand still with his teammate knocked out.
"Truly useless," Sen mumbled to himself.
Sen tried to wait out for the teams to fight and tire each other for him to win more easily, but he grew impatient and just sent a barrage ghosts to hex the teams, winning him the match.
"And the winner is Silvermoon team B!!" Principal Dominic shouted.
"I doubt he would get many scouts recruiting him, he's too rash and works alone," Anas commented.
"Any suspicious people yet?" Nex asked.
"Nah, I think we're fine for now," Echo replied, still looking closely at the scouts.
While they were walking out, principal Agnus stopped them.
"Any suspicious finds yet?" She asked.
"Not yet, but that was also the case for last time," Anas replied.
"Alright, just keep looking. Report anything useful before the event," she said as she floated away.
The four boys stood near where they first felt the pillar's presence, but nothing felt off.
"Maybe it was just a one-time thing," Karasu said.
"No way, it's very unlikely for them, we must keep watch. We can't let anything happen to the royals," Anas replied.
It was almost time for the tournament and the four boys couldn't see anything out of the ordinary and were still keeping watch of everything.
The tournament results were unsurprising as Sen won without a sweat and it was now time for his dual against the second son, prince Landon.
"Sen isn't weak, but Landon is an emerald ranked mage at only 20, so it's going to be a tough fight for Sen," Anas said.
But things didn't turn out like he thought it would. The match was a massacre — Landon dismantled Sen in under a minute. It wasn't a fight; it was a statement. The crowd, still buzzing from the first year's drama, fell silent as Landon walked off the platform, and created a rock pillar to send himself back up to his seat.
"Landon just... threw him out of the arena. It took less than half a minute to beat Sen half unconscious," Anas said, his eyes still fixed on the empty arena floor.
Echo whistled. "Glad I'm not that guy,"
"At least he's decent for his age," Nex said awkwardly.
After the event, the four boys headed to report their findings to principal Agnus. While walking, they saw Sen and a few scouts.
"I am the winner of the second year branch, surely one of you can get me a spot in one of your agencies," Sen said with a furious look, but all the scouts shook their heads, commenting on his flaws that couldn't be overlooked.
"Told you he wouldn't have much luck getting into an agency," Anas said as he looked on that the pitiful scene.49Please respect copyright.PENANARRBPNXrD3g
