After the first year branch of the Starfall Crown was over, everyone was leaving the arena.
"Congratulations on your win! I knew you would take home the victory," Anas congratulated Rai.
"What reward do I get for winning?" Rai asked with a smile.
"We have chocolate from Eclipse in the freezer," Anas replied which Rai looked forward to.
"You were also impressive, Raina," Karasu commented.
"Oh, umm, thank you for your commitment," Raina said, fidgeting with her fingers.
Just as the group was at the gate, a few scouts stopped them, trying to recruit Rai and Raina.
"Want to join the Lion Fire? It's one of the top agencies for promising mages such as you two," a scout shouted out.
"Try the Bolt Bringers, we have all the facilities you need to hone your skills," another scout told Rai and Raina.
Raina and Rai tried to deny all of their offers, but the scouts were persistent, so the trio and Echo stepped in front of the two girls.
"Are you guys illiterates? Don't you know what no means? It means get the fuck away from us," Echo shouted.
"We can take you to court for harassment if you don't leave them alone," Anas told the scouts.
"Wait, aren't you guys the powerful seniors who defeated the pillars?" A scout suddenly questioned.
Before the scouts can try to recruit the four boys too, the four boys and the two girls were suddenly lifted into the sky and flew away.
"Seems like you guys needed my help,"
It was principal Agnus who saved the group from having a headache.
"Thanks a lot for helping us, but isn't using any kind of magic illegal?" Anas questioned.
"I got a permit to use magic to help and save people, so it's fair game," principal Agnus replied.
"Anyways, I need you four idiot "saviors" to come with me. You four are going to meet the royal family," principal Agnus continued. Her statement made their jaws dropped to the floor.
"Wait what? Why would the royal family want a meeting with us?" Karasu wondered.
"It obviously because we saved princess Corolla from the pillar," Anas said and principal Agnus nodded.
"Only you four are allowed to come to the royal palace, you two can go back home," principal Agnus told Rai and Raina.
"Hey, want to go to the mansion that I live in?" Rai asked Raina, which left Raina awestruck, but she agreed.
"Just remember to tell Al that she is just a friend," Anas said to Rai and she nodded as she took off with Raina.
"Alright you idiots, follow me," principal Agnus told the boys.
"Just allow me to do all the talking. I know for a fact you three don't know formalities and manners," Anas said.
"Rude, but true," Nex said, a bit annoyed at how accurate Anas' statement was.
"What do we say to the king and queen?" Karasu asked.
"Let the king speak first. Then allow me to address him for us. If he also introduces the rest of the royal family, we all say your majesty to the queen, your royal highness to the prince and princess," Anas explained.
Just then, the royal carriage arrived and they all got in.
"Wait a second, I'm not even from this kingdom. Am I an immigrant?" Echo asked.
"I mean technically, but Last Star doesn't have anything against immigration," Anas replied.
"If I'm called, do I say hey or hi?" Nex asked.
"Neither, just say your majesty and replied to his question. If he follows up with another question, you can now just say sir and reply," Anas explained.
"Can't we just have principal Agnus help us reply?" Karasu asked.
"Nope, this meeting is address to you four. I'm only here to make sure nothing unjust happens," principal Agnus explained.
After 10 minutes, they arrived at the palace gates where two guards are stationed.
"Greetings, we are here for a meeting with the royal family," Anas said to the guards.
After they guards verified the group, two butlers escorted them to the throne room.
While walking, the trio and Echo's eyes were marveling at all the decor that were in the hallways.
"Just one of these golden antiques can cost more than my entire earnings," Nex whispered.
The enormous doors to the throne room opened and every member of the royal family were there. The group all stood in a line.
"Greetings, my daughter's saviors," king David said.
Anas stepped out and bowed.
"Greetings, your majesty. We are honored by you summon, sir," Anas replied.
"May I present queen Estella, prince Drake, prince Landon, and princess Corolla," king David said.
Anas moved back into the line.
"Your majesty. A pleasure. Your royal highness, sir. Your royal highness, Ma'am," the group said as they bowed.
Anas stepped back forward.
"We are at your service, your majesty," Anas said.
"Firstly, I would like to thank the four of you for saving my daughter. And as your rewards, you can each ask for one thing which is within my power," king David announced.
Anas' eyes widened for a second.
"Sir, are you sure about your decision? Isn't this reward too excessive?" Anas asked.
"For saving my daughter, this is the least that I can do for you four, now speak your requests," king David replied.
They all thought for a while.
"Sir, I would like you to make an executive order to make all racism and discrimination to beast folks and hybrids illegal," Anas said.
"Oh? You don't want anything for yourself?" King David asked.
"No, sir. This is the only thing I want," Anas replied.
"Very well, and what about you three?" King David asked.
"Sir, I, Karasu, and Nex would both want to you to make abandoning children illegal," Karasu said.
"But you know one of you can ask for that while the other can ask for something else, such as jewellery and artifacts, right?" King David questioned.
"Yes,sir. We know, but both of us only want this," Nex replied.
"If it is what you two wish for, then I shall allow it. And as for you?" King David asked as he looked towards Echo.
"Sir, I would like you to construct community homes for the poor in the kingdom," Echo said.
"All of you are truly selfless. Very well, I will enact all of your requests," king David said.
"And now, I would like to buy the dragon hybrid girl, Rai," king David continued. All of them were shocked at his request and Anas clenched his fist in anger, but he calmed himself down before he became a wanted criminal.
"Sir, may I ask why would you like to buy her?" Anas asked.
"You see, my daughter, Corolla, wants to have Rai as her younger sister. Would 10 thousand gold coins suffice?" King David asked.
"No sir, I'm sorry, but I must decline your offer. Rai is not something that you can buy," Anas replied.
"How about 20 thousand gold coins and 10 platinum coins for each of you?" King David continued to ask.
Anas thought inside of his head, "A single platinum coin can pay for a mansion for 20 years, that's 200 hundred years to live in a mansion. And he thinks that's how little Rai is worth? Just unbelievable,"
Anas looked back at Karasu, Nex and Echo, only to see them shaking their heads slightly in refusal.
"No sir, we won't accept your offer. I already said that Rai is not for sale," Anas replied.
"Well then, how much do you want? I can even give each of you high statuses amongst nobility," king David continued.
This finally ticked off Anas and he can also feel the rage from the 3 boys behind him, principal Agnus wanted to stop him, but hoped that he wouldn't do anything rash.
"Sir, may I ask you a question of my own? Would you sell one of your family members if someone asked you to?" Anas asked. This question made the royal family flinched.
"What's a preposterous question, I wouldn't sell my family," king David responded.
"Then why would you expect me to sell mine? Do you not care about your citizens' feelings?" Anas continued. Principal Agnus was shocked by his words, but she was too late to stop him.
"What did you just say to the king? How dare you disrespect the royal family!" The top royal guard, Ody, shouted.
"Sir, we already denied your offer twice already, no amount of coins would change our answer. Rai is a valued person to us four. If you yourself wouldn't sell your own family, why would people like us, who don't give a single shit about money, sell her?" Anas told king David.
"That's it! The four of you are going to get publicly executed!" Ody shouted as his eyes glowed yellow and swords made of light surrounded the four.
Ody sent the swords at them with a blinding speed, so fast that the boys could only see a blur of light coming towards them and couldn't react to dodge or counter, but before they got skewered by the swords, principal Agnus stepped in and her gravity magic made the blades fall and shatter.
"Stand down Ody!" Queen Estella shouted. Ody immediately stopped and stood up straight.
"They have a point, we cannot force them to sell a person who is dear to them," queen Estella explained.
"Don't tell me you actually believed that I want a sister? I just wanted to test them," Corolla said.
"You four were definitely sent down by the angels," king David continued.
They all breathed a sigh of relief after they heard it.
"Sir, sorry for my informality, I was blinded by anger," Anas said as he bowed.
"No worries, it's understandable," king David responded.
"You may all leave now," queen Estella said.
"And don't worry, I will scold sir Ody here," queen Estella continued.
The four boys and principal Agnus were then escorted out the room and back down to Celestial Star Academy's gates.
"Next time, think carefully before you say anything to the king. I know it was just a test, but next time, keep your cool!" principal Agnus scolded them at the gate and the four boys nodded.
