The next day, Rai showed Echo around the academy and all of its facilities. They ended up in the assessment room and due to curiosity, Rai asked Echo to take the test and Echo agreed with a bit of persuasion. The two saw Mr Blaze in there and Rai told Echo to challenge him.
"The one armed teacher? You're sure he is impressive?" Echo questioned.
"Trust me. I know him, he fought off hundreds of rovers all by himself," Rai exclaimed and Echo decided to trust her word.
The battle was intense, Echo was shocked that Mr Blaze, even with one arm, can turn the battlefield into the core of the Sun. In the end, Echo got a 99/100 even without magic, his unpredictability and cautious movements proved to be useful in fights with mages who have long ranged attacks.
"Wow, that was impressive! I haven't gotten anything above an 80," Rai told Echo.
"Well, you're still new at being in life-or-death situations, so it's understandable. However, as time flies, I'm confident you can be a great mage," Echo replied.
As the bell rang, their teachers told everyone to line up and head to the grand hall. While walking there, everyone was curious about what news the principal has to say and whispers flooded the hallways.
As everyone lined up in the hall, principal Agnus and the principal of the Silvermoon Academy were standing at the front of the stage. Principal Agnus stepped up to the podium, touching a small crystal cluster that's on the podium. Her voice carried across the hall without effort—not loud, but perfectly clear, as if she were standing next to every student at once.
"Good morning everybody, thank you for arriving quickly into the hall. Now, you may wonder why principal Dominic, the principal of the Silvermoon Academy, is here with us today. Well next week will be the start of the Starfall Crown, an event that has been held for only 15 years and this will be the second time that the event will be held," principal Agnus announced and every student cheered and clapped.
Then, principal Dominic stepped on the second podium. "Each grade will choose 4 representatives to join and the criteria for joining are that you must be in the top 10 of your grade and your strengths have to be recognized by at least 2 teachers or principal Agnus. This event is mainly to show both schools' students and their talent, along with showing you just how much stronger you must be inorder to become a great mage," Principal Dominic continued. The crowd started to whisper, wondering who would be accepted to join, except for the 3rd year students as they know the trio will most likely be chosen and even Echo was speculated to be chosen as well, even though he's new.
"Now, you have to submit your application form to your homeroom teacher and I hope we will see some good results in the event," principal Agnus stated as the announcement ended.
"Guess all of us are going to find principal Agnus to sign our forms, aren't we?" Nex asked, with the rest nodding along.
"Umm, I'm not sure about me though. I am 3rd in the 1st year, but I lack showings of true strength," Rai said nervously.
"Don't worry, you're smart and you've proved yourself to principal Agnus. She knows you and she sees a lot of potential in you," Anas comforted her.
The trio along with Rai and Echo went to principal Agnus' office, but her assistant told them she was at the Silvermoon Academy giving the speech to the students there so they would have to wait until lunch recess to get their forms signed.
"Well, now what? We need signatures from her or 2 teachers. Who else do we know?" Nex asked.
"Well, there's Mr Blaze. And I can find Ms T for the second signature. But you guys don't really have a second option since Nex chose Mr Blaze for the assessment tests and Mr X...is gone," Anas said.
"And I am not familiar with the wind guy, so I can't ask him," Echo said.
"I would have asked my homeroom teacher, Ms Cheung, but she hates me for no reason. It was perfectly fine until the news of you getting a girlfriend broke out," Rai said as she looked at Anas.
"Well, that situation is...complicated to say the least," Anas replied.
"Long story short, she got a crush on him after our first mission," Karasu explained to Rai and she went wide-eyed after hearing that and had even more questions in her mind.
"I guess we just have to wait until lunch recess then," Nex said.
"I guess in the meantime, we should prepare for the events. The first one is a free-for-all in teams of 2. It is going to be held in the official ANGEL nature arena past the west gate and the arena itself is like a 500m by 500m forest. The next event is a 1-on-1 tournament similar to the one in the City of Light and it's going to be held in the other ANGEL arena. The final event is that the winner of each tournament will face off against each of king David's children. 3rd years will fight the first son, Drake. 2nd year will fight the second son, Landon. And the 1st year will fight the only daughter, Corolla," Anas explained.
"Hey sometimes happy, want to be in a team with me?" asked Echo.
"You...want me to join your team? I'm not the strongest one in the three of us," Anas replied.
"But you're smart enough to become a threat and I respect you for taking care of the little dragon angel. What do you say, the smartest and the strongest together?" Echo asked.
"You drive a hard bargain. Deal, but only if you listen to my plans," Anas exclaimed and Echo agreed to those arrangements, promising to not let him down.
"Well, we might lose, but we have a chance to beat them with force," Nex said as he extended his hand to Karasu, which he accepted.
"I mean you would only technically lose in the tournament, and obviously, you will," Echo said pridefully.68Please respect copyright.PENANAct1CEj9iKP
