After the trio recovered from the fight, they confronted the mysterious man.
"Alright, we won the tournament, so tell us everything," Karasu said to the man.
"Okay okay, I don't have a name, so just call me Glaive. I am the person who mind controlled the Minotaur and the spider queen to attack you, but I was just testing you. I don't really care about the Cruels and their rules anymore because they made me use my powers so often that I am now blind in one eye. And so, I decided to train you three secretly by sending the fingers and the pillar to attack you and force you to grow stronger," Glaive said.
"So you're the one who planned all of that? Is that why we can't have a normal life?" Nex asked and Glaive nodded.
"And don't worry, Rai is actually safe. She isn't a target of the Cruels. I just wanted you three to have a boost of motivation," Glaive said and the trio breathed a sigh of relief.
"Well, that's all from me. And we will meet again, but it won't be pretty, bye," Glaive said.
The trio and Echo tried to follow him, but he disappeared into the crowd.
"Well, we need to go back to our room and send a letter to principal Agnus to tell her the situation," Anas told the other two.
"Well, now what do I do now?" Echo asked.
"I only lived in the arena and I now have nowhere to go," Echo continued.
"How about you come with us to the academy? You can end up in ANGEL and you can kill a lot of Cruels too," Nex suggested.
"Uhhh, sure, why not," Echo said.
The four of them had fun around the city and went back to the hotel room and Anas finally wrote the letter to principal Agnus.
"Dear principal Agnus,
While at the City of Light, we found someone that was following us. Turns out he was a former general in the Cruel army, but got exiled for not following orders. He was also the one who planned the Minotaur and spider queen attack, sent the spies and mind controlled the pillar to send the attacks and Rai was never a target of the Cruels. He only used her as a motivation for us to grow stronger.
We also met a new friend called Echo. He is the same age as us and a magic tool user with the Ancient Fever and we would like him to enroll in the academy as it took the three of us to finally beat him in an underground tournament, so he would definitely be a useful ally.

"Well now we just have to go to the post office and send the letter. Since it's late, we will do that tomorrow," Anas said to the three.
"Do you really think that the principal of one of the most important schools will allow a magicless loser like me to go there?" Echo asked.
"We know the principal quite well, so she might allow it as a thank you for helping during our vacation," Nex said.
It was now the next morning, Anas went off to the post office while the others were still sleeping.
"Hello, welcome to the post office, how may I help you today?" The receptionist at the desk asked.
"I would like to deliver this letter to the Celestial Star Academy," Anas replied.
"Umm, sorry, but not everyone can deliver letters to the academy. Only students and members of ANGEL can do that," the receptionist replied.
"Oh, actually I am a student from the academy. Take a look at my ID card," Anas said as he showed his student ID card. The receptionist not only saw he was a student, but also a member of the Blackwood family, which has ties to the academy for years now.
"Ah! My apologies, I will help you immediately!" The receptionist said as she bowed, but Anas told her to raise her head and said that it's fine.
As he left the post office, he met up with the others and Val. They are leaving today and they have to do it now because Anas was summoned back to the mansion due to something urgent and so they headed off as soon as possible.
"Why would they suddenly summon you back to the mansion?" Echo asked.
"I don't know, but it means something bad might have happened," Anas said worryingly.
"There's no way something happened to Rai, she is protected by the academy and the Blackwood family. It must be something else," Karasu said.
"Whatever it might be, we will conquer it together," Nex said to everyone.
2 days go by as they finally got back to Last Star. They rushed to the mansion with Val anxiously as even Val had no idea why they needed to go back so early.
When they got there, Al said only Anas is allowed entry, the rest, including Val need to stay outside the mansion. While there, they also saw Amelia standing outside.
"Do you know what is going on?" Karasu asked her.
"I heard Andreas say something about family before telling me and my unit to stay outside for a bit," Amelia replied.
"Well, guess we will just have to wait and see," Val said.
"But why are the maids still inside the mansion if the butlers aren't, including Al are outside," asked Nex.
"Maybe something with Rai if Anas was summoned, but it might be a good thing," Amelia said.Anas was escorted to the main hall by the head maid as he started to get more and more nervous. He was analyzing all the different possiblities of what could the matter be, but every thought has a flaw in it and he ran out of time to find the correct one as he was in front of the hall doors.
