Chapter XXV: What a Day!
After several days after the Starlight Festival's cancellation, a sense of solemnity pervades the University of the Constellations. The once jubilant atmosphere has been replaced by a quiet resolve. Dr. Yoshida, along with other teachers, decides it's time to honor those who bravely stood in the face of danger. Dr. Yoshida gives the gifts and honors to Principal Kimura so that he will give it to the university hospital where Ryujin and the others are. With a bouquet of flowers in hand and a small, discreet box of medals, they head to the hospital where Ryujin and his friends are recovering.
The university hospital is a stark contrast to the university due to its modern design, its sterile white walls a reminder of the ordeals the students endured. As they make their way to the room, Principal Kimura exchanges nods of acknowledgement with the staff, who are well aware of the recent events. The room where Ryujin and his friends are staying is at the end of a long corridor, a silent sanctuary where the heroes of the night are recuperating.
Principal Kimura: "Let's make this visit meaningful. These students deserve our utmost respect and gratitude."
Dr. Aoshima: "Absolutely. They've shown extraordinary courage."
They reach the room, and the sight of Ryujin, Inoshiro, Hageshi, Haruto, and Kuebiko brings a wave of emotion over them. The students, though still bearing the marks of their battle, have a light in their eyes that speaks of resilience and hope. Principal Fukushu steps forward, his heart swelling with pride.
Principal Kimura: "Good morning, everyone. How are you feeling today?"
Ryujin, sitting up in bed, manages a weak but genuine smile.
Ryujin: "We're getting better, Principal Kimura. Thank you for coming."
Inoshiro: "We didn't expect visitors, especially not so soon."
Principal Kimura: "Well, we couldn't wait any longer to express our gratitude, especially from Dr. Yoshida. You all showed exceptional bravery during the incident, and it's time you were recognized for it, even if it's just among us for now."
He opens the box, revealing the medals. Each one bears the emblem of the university, a symbol of unity and strength. The principal carefully places a medal around each student's neck, his eyes moist with unshed tears.
Principal Kimura: "These medals are a small token of the university's appreciation. You risked your lives to protect others, and for that, you have our deepest respect and thanks."
The students look at their medals, a sense of pride and accomplishment washing over them. They had faced unimaginable dangers, and now, they were being honored for their courage.
Hageshi: "Thank you, Principal Kimura. We did what we had to do. We're just glad we could help."
Dr. Aoshima: "You did more than help. You saved lives and preserved the integrity of our university. We owe you a debt that can never be repaid."
The principal and teachers stay for a while longer, sharing words of encouragement and listening to the students recount their experiences. The visit is a much-needed morale boost, reaffirming the bond between students and faculty.
A week later, the students are deemed well enough to return to school. The journey back to the university is a mix of anticipation and anxiety. They had left as heroes, but they return to a campus still in recovery. The hallways are quieter, the students more subdued, but there is a palpable sense of unity.
As Ryujin settles back into his routine, he can't shake the feeling that something has changed within him. His dreams have become more vivid, filled with the presence of the mysterious man who guided him through the battle. One night, as he drifts into slumber, the man appears again, his form more distinct than ever.
Mysterious Man: "Ryujin, my apprentice, I am proud of you."
Ryujin: "Who are you? Why have you been guiding me?"
The man steps closer, his features becoming clearer. He has a calm, reassuring presence, his eyes filled with wisdom and kindness.
Mysterious Man: "Yes, I might be your spirit guide through this ring. But, it might be the time you may now know my name. You may call me Pacificus. I have been watching over you, helping you unlock your potential. Your bravery has proven that you are worthy of the power you possess."
Pacificus is a tall man, blue eyes, and have a long beard, as he dons a blue robe. Ryujin feels a surge of understanding and acceptance. The path before him is clearer now, illuminated by the guidance of Pacificus.
Ryujin: "I will do my best. Thank you for your guidance, Pacificus."
Pacificus: "Remember, Ryujin, you are never alone. I will always be here, watching over you. Trust in yourself, and trust in the bond you share with your friends. Together, you are stronger than any force that may come your way."
As Pacificus fades into the ethereal mists of Ryujin's dream, the young hero awakens with a renewed sense of purpose. He looks out the window, the first rays of dawn breaking the darkness. The future is uncertain, but he is ready to face it, knowing he is not alone.
The return to school marks a new chapter for Ryujin and his friends. They have been through a trial by fire, emerging stronger and more united. The university, too, begins its healing process, with students and faculty working together to rebuild and restore what had been lost.
Dr. Yoshida addresses the student body in a heartfelt assembly, acknowledging the trials they had faced and the strength they had shown.
Dr. Yoshida: "We have been tested, and we have triumphed. Our university stands as a testament to the courage and resilience of each one of you. Let us move forward, not in fear, but in hope and unity. Together, we will rebuild and emerge stronger than ever."
The applause that follows is thunderous, a collective affirmation of their shared strength and determination. Ryujin, standing among his friends, feels a deep sense of belonging. They had faced darkness and emerged into the light, ready to protect their home and each other.
As the days turn into weeks, the university hums with the familiar rhythm of academic life. The scars of the past remain, but they are a reminder of the courage and unity that had seen them through. Ryujin and his friends continue their studies, ever vigilant, ever ready.
In the quiet moments, when the world is still, Ryujin sometimes senses the presence of Pacificus—a silent guardian, a whisper of guidance. He knows that whatever challenges lay ahead, he will face them with the strength and wisdom he has gained, and the unwavering support of his friends. The future is theirs to shape, and they are ready.
