Maybe it's wishful thinking, maybe it's naivety. But, in my head, there's somebody I haven't met yet who loves me for who I am, who holds my hand, who gives me thoughtful presents. Someone who understand me, and who I understand. I've been waiting my whole life to meet them, and the thought that they aren't out there feels wrong in my head.
I don't think love is forever. I believe that you can love someone with your whole heart, but just... not in ten years' time. Why? Because people change. You can learn from your mistakes, or make new ones. You can discover things that change your personality completely; it's perfectly, horribly possible to become a person your lover does not love anymore. And, maybe, that's ok.
How do you know if they're the one?
No clue. I imagine you just feel it, but that's probably fairy-tale nonsense. I suppose you'd find out through getting to know them, through finding out little bits about them that you love. Then, coming to the realisation that you love them. If they love you back, boom, they're the one.
