#2 WRITER'S BLOCK 969Please respect copyright.PENANAT9sdVLTwfR
You know, the worst thing that can happen to me, other than being surrounded by people who give away spoilers faster than you can say "babadook", is *drum roll please* writer's block.
Why?
Cause I like to talk crap at times.
And to talk crap, at least online, where there aren't a class full of people ready to judge you for breathing air, you need to write.
And I can't write if I have this huge effing wall in front of me with a signboard that says- "Sorry pal, no writing for a while."
And in plain terms, it sucks. I wish life were Sims 4 and I could just read a book or play guitar to get over this block. But no, sadly it's not.
So I do the only thing I'm really good at. I google. (I'm also like an almost stalker, kind of like a pro. So if you want me to cyber stalk someone, find out details- I'm your buddy)
Moving on, I google. So I googled writer's block and I came across this really good article at a website whose name I forgot, and didn't bookmark cause I'm careless. And also very lazy to check my history.969Please respect copyright.PENANAA2PRdWbnP9
So this website said something like writer's block can be of two types.
1) Resistance
Where you resist the idea of writing. You think you can't do it. You feel it in your bones that you can't. You feel like everything you write is crap. BUTT. I mean, but it's all in your mind.
2) Emptiness
You're just empty. There's no spiritual or emotional energy in you that time. You don't feel like there's a story to tell. You just don't feel the words you type or write. You feel like a zombie pretending to have feelings.
And right now, I'm both.
So what do you do about it?
Well...
i) You could wait it out.
My take: Don't. You wait, and wait. And for a second you shut your eyes, and when you open them, two years have gone by. #truestory
ii) Watch movies.
My take: Unless you want your story to be highly similar to the movie you just watched, you probably shouldn't. Cause like right after Hunger Games, I kind of wanted to create my own dystopia about kids stranded in an island and had to each other up to survive.
The end result: I didn't write it (the block was still there) but in my mind the lead gives birth to a kid who eats her.
iii) Read books.
My take: Actually, not a bad idea. Because like when I read when I'm in the block I tend to see the way a writer writes. The style, the words they use. How the writer's describe the characters talking.
But then again, I forget once I'm done with the book.
iv) Play an instrument.
My take: Not to boast or anything (maybe just a teeny weeny bit) I play the guitar and the keyboard. And it is said that the writing abilities and the creative abilities are very connected. And they're taken from the left side of the brain.
So, when I'm in the block I try playing the guitar, but just end up holding it and checking my phone or staring at the blank walls and think of what can I do with that empty space.969Please respect copyright.PENANAIMiWxUSjUu
*kind of like this one, but minus pressing the frets or the strings. and i'm not a redhead.*969Please respect copyright.PENANAdTNiNaK6u0
And the last, but the least... *drum roll again*969Please respect copyright.PENANAHwehLEOnXW
v) Write969Please respect copyright.PENANApukXeLBSfI
My take: Write. Write Write.969Please respect copyright.PENANApqx9eEmZ9f
You could: 969Please respect copyright.PENANAmbutcU6W2u
a) free write- just keep on writing/typing, even if it doesn't make sense, even if you make errors. you just write and don't look back. 969Please respect copyright.PENANAFwnQaf7UaJ
kind of like running but not stopping to tie your shoelaces or going back to pick up the phone you dropped.)969Please respect copyright.PENANAaCPZspvvcG
b) just write- this one is what we are all used to. just push yourself and write something anything. ANYTHING at all. like:969Please respect copyright.PENANAkC5nerThES
hi. i'm a puppy. but i'm a kitten too. and it just confuses me whether I should be a human or a zebra. 969Please respect copyright.PENANAeSiWyHuDuT
It is not supposed to make sense. It's a way to get yourself out there. It's a way to make them fingers dance! 969Please respect copyright.PENANArvWnGc3IBm
So those were the ways to fix the block. And they're effective when I use them.969Please respect copyright.PENANAY7HRMhqHKh
Also, there are certain applications I use to make me more concentrated on writing, but so far- I'm still immune. But maybe you're not. 969Please respect copyright.PENANAcw28PYd754
The apps are... 969Please respect copyright.PENANA65pTl6TNPV
Never mind, I'll post that later cause I'm lazy and don't remember the names. But there are quite a few. And no, they're not boring MS Word. 969Please respect copyright.PENANABLOmJaZ6gq
That being said, I'm still suffering from writer's block. I'm a bit lazy to take my own advice. But it works. 969Please respect copyright.PENANAUhxLIllB8x
So, you could try them if you're need. 969Please respect copyright.PENANAjqCxpnVmSv
Or you could ignore. 969Please respect copyright.PENANAzYH51Rxtx0
I ignore me too. 969Please respect copyright.PENANA5kgvsiLJe6
Sometimes. Most of the times. 969Please respect copyright.PENANAhwHFkzMORK
