It’s hard to imagine life without you,

If only I had a clue what to do.

I see you in the sunlight that illuminates the morning dew.

A dark void resides inside my soul and I can’t see through.

I wish you never left,

I am a victim of theft, for you have stolen my light.

A blight has heart,

And malignant tumors have grown beneath my skin,

Decay festers in the muscles that used to hold you.

You’ve gone, leaving me with my darkness.

I am nothing but the sin left over from your truth.

The dark side of the moon,

Cold, void, unknown, and heartless.

You were my light, speckles of sunshine on a cloudy day.

Your gentle hands kept me afloat in my raging sea of tears.

It seems as if heaven was jealous of your goodness and radiant smile,

For they took you far too soon.

I still see you in the goldenrod that grows and blossoms under my window.

It’s always so bright and full of life, yet to be frozen by the frost.

Now I wish the plant was dead.

Cause any color I see reminds me of you.

That you have gone,

Left me desolate and alone.

All the color has been leeched from the world cause you’re not in it anymore.

It may be selfish of me to wish you back here in this harsh place.

Yet, I can’t help this foolish hope inside my decrepit heart,

That I may see you again,

Somewhere, sometime, someday.
