Ari slowly opened her eyes. "What happened?"
"Ari!!" Asher hugged Ari as soon as she spoke. "You're OK! I'm so happy you're OK!"
"Asher!!" she said. He sat back down.
"Sorry. . . ."
"No, c'mere." She let him hug her for the first time. What has that power source done to me? she thought. "How did you find me down there?"24Please respect copyright.PENANAhk7x5OkijS
"You were taking a long time, so I thought I'd go down and check on you," he said, "and then I found you unconscious on the floor. So, I carried you back here to your dorm. Don't worry, everyone is at lunch right now. They allowed me to take care of you. It's not like I was going to leave you anyway."24Please respect copyright.PENANAwm2opUScIZ
Ari felt a weird feeling in her stomach when he touched her hand. She didn't pull her hand back. Instead, she held it. She didn't mean to do that. . . .
"Um, Ari?"
"Yes?"
"You're kind of holding my hand."
"Am I?"
"Yep."
She leaned in toward him slightly. What am I doing? she asked herself. What am I doing?
"You kind of saved my life, Asher."
"Well--"
Ari put her hand behind his neck. Why am I doing this? she thought. Why, why, why?
"I owe you a lot."
His face was burning red. "Come on, Ari--"24Please respect copyright.PENANAgSvs3i90cV
Their lips met.
No . . . no . . . no . . . no . . . Ari thought. What is happening?
They pulled away after a while.
"What was that?" Ari asked.
"I don't know," Asher said. "I think it's love."24Please respect copyright.PENANAkyXTk3sJyA
Ari laughed. "Well, whatever it is," she said, "I love it."
Asher smiled and kissed her again.
He left to get lunch for them both.
"I'm gonna have a problem. . . ." she whispered.
