"I have a plan!" Came Evelyn's voice from the other end of the phone. I had called her and told her everything that happened last night. I told her how I saw Adrian sneak out of the house. I also explained how I followed him. Lastly, I told her where I saw him go into.
The smiths Mansion.
I was so certain he is hiding evidence down there. But the big question is who is he trying to protect?

I shivered at that thought. He couldn't do that!
Then I remembered his cold face on the day Iris had that accident, his awkward behavior at home, that stupid smirk of his face this morning and my phone.
Did he really hide it?
"Fiona!" Evelyn should at the other end.
"What!" I replied as I was thrown back into reality.
"I have been trying to get your attention for a full minute." She hissed.
"Oh Sorry!" I was rubbing my head in confusion.
"We are already in a shit-hell load of trouble right now! Heck, even Vivienne wouldn't want to be part of this!"
"That is exactly why I called you!" I stressed.
"I thought we already agreed to end this, Fiona." She pointed out.

"You said you have a plan. Do you?" I asked crossing my fingers.
"My plan is to have no plans and just sit tight and let cops do their job!"
"The cops?" I couldn't believe my ears. " Eve, we went into the smiths' mansion and tore down some duct tapes. If the cops were on the case, we would have been called in for questioning."
"Iris almost died!!!" Evelyn yelled through the phone.
Those three words were like salt on an open and deep wound.
Silence. Tears.
"Why do you think I am doing this again Eve?" I asked. " I am not doing this for the sake of the pleasure of solving a mystery."
Silence.
"I am doing this to find out who did that Iris on that day." I choked.
"Oh!" Evelyn answered. "In that case you can't do this."
" What?" I spluttered. "I literally explained every-"
"Chill... I am not done with what I was saying! " She yelled. " I meant you can't do this without me. You obviously need a henchman right??"
"Oh my gosh! Eve, you really don't know how much this means to me. I don't even know what to say." I gushed almost in tears.
"Yh. How about let's find Mr Smiths' murderer." She suggested.
"No! Let's find Iris' attacker." I corrected. "Because he is the same person."
