CHAPTER 12
I woke up the next morning barely sleeping a wink throughout the night.
MY PHONE!
I jumped of the bed and frantically searched for it. I just had to call Evelyn! I pulled the covers off the bed and shook my duvet furiously. Where IS it?
I searched the drawers, wardrobe, pillows…name it! My phone was no where to be seen!
Could it be…Oh no he didn’t!
Did he see me follow him last night?
I spun around and ran down the hall and pounded on Adrian`s door angrily. The door opened.
‘wha?” he replied as he itched his sleepy eyes “Fiona, what the fu-“
“MY PHONE!” I screamed into his face.
“where is it?”
“Fiona, are you delusional?" He asked as he stared at me with a confused expression. " what on earth could I be doing with your phone?"

I rolled my eyes. Such a pretender. He had feigned innocence to my dad and I for a whole 7 days! But last night-
"Adrian if you don't stop telling me lies this minute, I swear…" I started.
"What would you do?" He interrupted.
"How dare you interrupt me?" I said as my eyes narrowed in disgust. I was so furious!
"You are sick, Fiona!" He concluded pulling on his hair in frustration. "So sick! You just wake up one morning and claim I stole your phone?"
"Then prove it!" I shot back.
"Huh?!"
"Prove you aren't with it!" I crossed my arms and stared at him in triumph.
He rolled his eyes, disappeared behind the door for a few seconds and returned with a phone.
MY PHONE!
Oh wait, no it wasn't. It was his.
He unlocked the phone and called mine. I heard the muffled sound of my ringtone. But where???
I ran downstairs and into the kitchen.
There it was. Right beside the jug.
"But..." I started staring in disbelief.
"And you claimed I stole it" Adrian said walking into the kitchen behind me with a sneer.
"I-i" I stammered in confusion. I didn't take my phone downstairs with me. Or did I?
I quickly snatched the phone from the kitchen counter and turned it on. It's really mine!
"Thanks, Adrian!" I turned around and gave a fake smile. "I am sorry I accused you of stealing. Please don't tell my dad, Ok?"
I tried to hurry past him but he came right in front of me.
"Just a question though, why would you think I would be with your phone?" He asked giving another mischievous smile. "Is there something you are hiding?"
"What?" I asked "Psh-nahh!" I answered awkwardly.
There was a pause. A very uncomfortable pause.
"Um... Anyway, thanks again." I concluded."like I said let's just keep this between ourselves."
"Cool!" Came his reply.
I waited for him to move aside and I hurried out of the kitchen and ran up the stairs and into my room. I slammed the door shut, clicked the lock on and sat on the edge of my bed. Taking a deep breath, I began to dial Evelyn's number.
I don't have a plan...YET! All I know for now is we that we have to right some wrongs.
