"Today is the day, you ready?" I ask Remus as he smiles at me and kisses my head.
"Yep." He says. I had stayed the night at his dorm since I knew he had this.
"The pain will ease, I promise." I say and he nods his head. We head out into the car and drive away to the hospital. It only takes twenty or so minutes, unlike the night we learned about Remus' lung cancer, then it took thirty. (Twenty for the ambulance).
"I'm scared." Remus says as he holds his hands together. I nod my head.
"I am too." I say.
"What are they going to do?" Remus asks. He was so tired and weak this week that he hadn't looked anything up.
"Well they are going to feed a tube into your vein and administer the drug, that can take from 5 minutes to well about 8 hours." I say as we pull into the parking lot. He nods his head.
"Im so scared." He says and I nod my head. I park the car and instantly hug him.
"Remus, I love you, you know that right?" I say and he nods his head.
"Yes." He says to confirm.
"Then you also know I would never let anything bad happen to you, ever." I say as I hug him tighter and soon after we pull away. We get out of the car and head into the hospital where we are greeted by an attendant. We wait in the waiting room holding hands till he is called. I am aloud go with him and we walk into the room. Remus sits down in the seat and waits for the doctor.
"You okay my love?" I ask and he nods.
"yeah," He says.
"Not very talkative today?" I ask and he shakes his head. Suddenly the doctor enters. he gets Remus prepared.
"You'll be here for only twenty minutes today. We want to start you off lower, plus you'll be back in two weeks." He says and Remus nods. Soon after he is pricked and he begins to get the medicine.
"Want to listen to your classical music?" I ask and he nods. For twenty minutes we listen to classical music and talk back and forth. After he is done we head out to the parking lot.
"I don't feel well." Remus says as he gets in the car.
"Here have some water and do try to eat. I promise this will all work out." I say and he begins to drink water.
"I just feel so light headed." Remus says as leans back in the chair. We drive to his dorm and when we get there Peter is there waiting with homemade soup.
"Hey Peter, is Sirius and James here?" I ask as I set Remus down on the couch. He looks pale. I grab a shopping bag and fill it up with a trash bag.
"What's that for?" Remus asks and I smile.
"In case you need to throw up." I say and he nods his head. I notice a small rash forming.
"Here you go Moony." Peter says as he drops off the soup.
"Thanks wormtail." Remus says. I pull Peter aside.
"Yes?" He asks me.
"Can you watch Remus while I try to find James and Sirius?" I ask.
"Sure, take the car to three broomsticks." Peter says and I nod my head. I head out with a kiss to Remus' forehead and drive away. I smile as I reach the three broomsticks. I get in and look around and notice that there is no one there besides a few people. Then I notice that James and Sirius aren't working the counter but instead it's Lily.
"Hey Lily," I say as I walk up to her.
"Hey," she says with a welcoming smile.
"Could I get two waters and a green tea?" I ask and she nods.
"How is Remus?" She asks and I shrug.
"Not well. It went well but the side effects are not friendly." I say and she nods.
"How are the rest of them cooping?" She asks.
"I mean Peter is taking it well. Made some soup but I haven't seen James nor Sirius." I say and she nods her head.
"K well here you go, it's on the house today." She says and I thank her and drive back. I get back to the dorm and head inside and to my surprise John is there with Remus and Peter. Remus looks worse than when I left him.
"Hey roomie." John says as he hugs me. I drop off the drinks and smile.
"What are you doing here?" I ask him.
"Any friend of yours is a friend of mine." He says and I nod.
"Hey Remus, how are you?" I ask as I bend down and sit next to him.
"I don't feel well." He says.
"Lets get you to bed then." I say and he nods. I help him to his feet and we walk over to his room and set him to bed. I give him the bag and his water and tell him to drink some. I then leave and sit on the couch.
"Whats wrong?" Peter asks.
"How much soup did he eat?" I ask Peter and he sighs.
"Not much and threw it all up shortly after so I made a new bag for him." Peter says and I nod my head.
"Where the hell are Sirius and James?" I ask.
"They didn't pick up when I called them." Peter says. I sigh out and try not to cry.
"Hey what's wrong?" John asks me and I shake my head slightly.
"How am I going to get through two years of this?" I ask and the room falls silent.
"you're strong, you know that right?" Peter asks and I nod.
"Just am I strong enough to do this?" I ask him and he nods his head.
"Defiantly, especially with us by your side." Peter says.
"yep, we're here for you." John says as he sits next to me. We all embrace in a group hug before I hear Remus throw up in the room. I get up and rush over to him and he is still throwing up. When he is done I look at the mess on his face and sit on the bed.
"You're still beautiful." I say as I wipe away the mess on his face and he laughs.
"Still think so?" He asks and I nod my head.
