It was a dark and stormy night,

as I lay in my bed in fright.

The thunder struck,

I clamped my mouth to muffle the scream

The old broken window rattled in the wind...

I shook with fear, with dread

My mind was racing fast as if to warn me of death

I lit the candle in my bed side table and sat up startled when

The door of my room opened suddenly

I grabbed my slippers and stood up to defend,

all this while the figure stared at me in dark filled with ageold hatred.
