The pain. 

The heat.

My scars.

My bloody miserable feet.

"ARRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHH!"

I'm tossing and turning, this dream isn't letting me go, it's not letting me GO!

"Let me go!"  I scream in my head.

I can feel my bed sweating with me, my dream is still tormenting me.

I am conscious, but my bloody eyes won't open.

"C'mon!" I scream mentally again.

In my dream I force out my anger and a huge vibration is released from my hands into the mid air I'm standing in. Then I scream. One. Last. Time.

"ARRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHH!"

I don't realise I'm screaming in the real world too.

Crap.

That's when I wake up.

Once again, my bed is soaked with my sweat.

It took me twice as long to open my eyes. It's freaking scary. All I saw was a beast cutting me over and over and over again. I've had this dream ever since my 17th birthday. And man, do I wonder why the hell I chose to fall asleep, when each time I wake up, I wake up in my 'dream world', not in the real world. And it takes 3 hours to try and wake myself  into the real world.

I should start using pills to keep me awake. If I don't, I might aswell be in a coma. It's too risky, way to risky.

Sadly, the first thing I do is scream. In my stinky pillow.

I'm in so much pain. My body is battered and my body is draped with bruises. I look so messed up, the only words to describe myself is 'the girl wrapped in black silk'.

In this town, if someone called you that, well.. it means you died of being severely beaten up; in my case I'm safe.

The only reason why I look like the the girl wrapped in black silk, is because that son-of-a-bitch Stan, my guardian, beat me up until I shriveled up like a raisin. 

Gross.

All you have to do is look at him, or bump into him. Or in my bloody case drop a paper towel.

And you're dead meat, which he'll probably eat for supper, since that's what he always eats. Meat, meat, meat.

I slowly get out of my bed and try to hold onto something, which happens to be mid air, so my delicate face slams right on my floor.

The wooden floor.

I groan as I get up, can't my day get any better?

I do the most stupidest thing, which happens to be crawling.

I crawl all the way to my door, and I slowly lean up to pull the handle. Successfully, I do and crawl out of my room into the bathroom.

I run myself a bath and when it's finally full, I strip my clothes off and carefully dip in.

"Ahhhh," I relax. If only, I'd stay here forever, awake. No dreams, no beasts. Just pea-

"SCARLETT YOU F***ING PIG, YOU'VE BEEN IN THERE FOR TWO SOLID HOURS!" Stan is walking up and down, up and down.

Has anybody ever taught him manners? I just got in here. My gosh, whoever dropped him head first, when he was a baby, is an idiot. I have to suffer his anger. His bloody fierce anger.

"I just dipped in, and by the way I forgot to lock the door, do me the honors of locking it for me please." I reply, regretting every word I said.

Stan, the f***ing coward, kicks open the door. His face as purple as a plum says, "I will tear your head from your shoulders if you speak to me like that, ever!"

I wrap my arms around my body, he only just realised he found me naked in the tub. Where is his sense?

"Cool." I look up to him, and whisper, "I'm naked by the way."

That's it. He's lost it.

He grabs me, pulls me out of the tub and slams my body into the wall.

I still haven't recovered from his brutal beating from the night before, and he's trying to hurt me again, naked.

I gasp. He puts his hands right beside my head, his whole body leaning on mine.

I think I'm going to be sick.

"I don't give a damn whether you're wearing clothes or not, you obey every word I say. Understood?" He says every word sharp and clear.

"Understood." I mumbled.

He's so close I can smell his breath, which is a mixture of cigarettes and beer.

He walks away, slamming the door right behind him. And I breathe out heavily, as if I was holding my breath all along.

I touch the parts of my body that hurt, which is everywhere, and I mean everywhere.

"Heal." I whisper, focusing on my body healing. And every time I breath in I feel sparkles and when I breathe out I feel as if all my pain has left me.

I let go of myself, and look around.

Everything is gone, the bruises they're gone. Completely!

I don't know how I did that. But whatever I did it worked, just like always.

I find my towel, which had been trampled on by Stan, poor towel, and wrap myself with it.

I release the plug from the tub to let out all the water, gurgling its way out rapidly. If only could leave here as fast as that.

I brush my teeth, change into fresh clothes (I keep in the bathroom storage) and apply makeup on my face. 

I've grown, and I don't even notice it. I turn back to front looking at my figure, it looks alot better than it did last year. I look and feel more mature, and I'm glad. Even though I don't act as mature as I look though.

"GET THE HELL OUT OF THERE!"

Why can't I ever have at least a moment to myself, the damn guy has to open his mouth and ruin every bit of a second for me.

"I'm coming out, hold up." I scream back. I don't think he liked those last two words.

I'm about to grab my stuff when I see something, it's such a shock to me I fall on my back.

It's a vision.

I see a town, holding hands, each and every one of them, they look scared to death. Their eyes are looking down a cliff, sharp and clear, nothing is beyond a mysterious cloud.

Without warning, they all suddenly jump off a cliff, no screams, no nothing. 

I want to stop them, but I can't, I'm glued to my bed. All I can do is watch.

Further behind from the cliff a young adult, about my age, is on her knees, her head bend down and arms behind her back, tied with rope. 

THE Fear and bravery surrounds this girl, the feelings are so powerful it's as if I can read it off a page of a book. Two other people are trying to come to this girl, a girl and a boy, they're pushing and shouting. But they can't pass, a giant creature which is probably the size of a Goliath times by 2, is pushing them further and further towards the cliff until...

SPLAT.

The young girl that was kneeling, had been split in half by a two edged sword, her blood everywhere.

The creature that was pushing away the other girl and boy had disappeared. Everyone and everything stood still, until a bright light shined, so bright it blinded me.

BAM.

I wake up.

And instead of me being on my bathroom floor, I'm on a sofa, a lamp is right in my face and water is splashed all over me.

I just had a bloody bath, for crying out loud.

And leaning over me, is Stan. His face is soft now, but he's scared. It's written all over him.

"Scarlett, wake up." He's shaking, why in God's name would this son-of-a-bitch be shaking, he's literally got tears mounting in his eyes. He's supposed to be celebrating, praising himself.

Nope. It's the complete opposite.

I cough, trying to get his face to look directly at my face. His breath stinks... As usual.

"What?" I ask rudely, "You've invaded my privacy enough this morning." I sigh.

"I'll drag you by your head into the yard if you carry on like that, don't do that again. You passed out." He snapped, his emotions switched quicker than I expected.

"Jee," I huff, "I felt faint that's all."

"Good, now you're up we can go." He hurries me up.

"But I-"

"I will beat you so hard you won't say a peep." He threatens me.

I don't have time for his bullshit, so I shut my gob.

"Let's go." He pulls me off the sofa, and gestures me to get out of the house.

He gets the keys from the coffee table, and follows me out of the door, which of course he slams hard. So hard it cracked a piece of the door.

"FOR FUCK SAKES!" He turns to me, "WHY ARE YOU ALWAYS THE CAUSE OF MY MISERY? WHY?! WHY?! WHY?!" he roars.

Why is everything blamed on me? This guy needs help. Serious help.

I shrug my shoulders and look back at him.

"Whatever, get in the car." He says, literally shoving me against the door.

I open the door of the back, and drag is hard when I finally sit down.

"DON'T SLAM THE CAR!" 

Sheesh. It's not as if I even slammed it.

Stan gets in the front, and he obviously SLAMS the bloody door. Wow, isn't he such a great role model.

He doesn't bother to tell me to buckle myself up. He doesn't need to. Because I've got the sense, he doesn't.

I've probably been outside the house about fifteen times. I've never gone to school, never gone to the shops, never gone to the hospital. Never.

The only time I go out, is when Stan takes me to some place where they check my health and my eating etcetera...

Who gives a damn about that? I can figure out whether I'm sick or not, I'm not that stupid.

"Are we going to that checkup place?" I ask, politely. And I mean politely.

Stan ignores me.

So I ask again, "Are we going..."

"Can't you just shut it. Forever opening your mouth like a tap letting water flow through it. Idiot."

I sigh, he just never stops running his mouth, does he?

He rambles some more about me and my behaviour, and that if I don't start making a change then nothing in my life will.

"We are not going for checkup today." He finally says.

"Then where are we-"

"Stop cutting me!" He glares at me through the mini mirror, "You'll see where we're going, now shut up and rest, or shut your mouth altogether."

I am for a fact, not going to go to sleep, I can't trust him. Also, I'd probably take a billion years to wake up, I have a waking up situation...

So I stick to plan b, and seal my lips.

"Finally I can be a happy man." Stan says, assuming I'm asleep, "I won't have to struggle with this bitch anymore." I think he's on his cell, because I hear a voice say...

"I know babes, can't wait till it's over." And whoever it is hangs up.

I shut my eyes, and pretend to snore. I can see Stan looking at me through the mini car mirror for a second, before keeping his eyes back onto the road.

As for me, I sing random shit in my head to distract me, but I can't forget what Stan said:

"Finally I can be a happy man... I won't have to deal with this bitch anymore." 

Is he talking about me? What does he mean about being a happy man? This is all too weird...

So I carry on pretending to sleep, I forget what I heard Stan say, and continue making up stuff in my head..

I open my eyes and fake a yawn. All of a sudden, we stopped.

"We're here." Stan is grinning from ear to ear, it's as if he's traveled back in time back to a boy.

Oh dear, oh deary me.

I unbuckle my seat belt, open the car door, and climb out. I slam it a bit too hard, but Stan is too deaf to notice.

"Hello.." I wave in front of his face, and his slaps my hand out of the way.

Ow.

"What are we waiting for?" I ask gently.

Stan looks around, and finally lays his eyes on me.

"For once, idiot, you are right. What the hell are we waiting for?" Stan winks at me.

I almost faint. The guy bloody winks. AT ME!! There are times in life where people are supposed to keep a mask on, but they 'accidentally' reveal themselves.

Stan is supposed to be evil, a coward and careless. He pulled two stunts on me today, he actually helped me when I fainted, and flipping winked at me.

I don't understand guys. To be honest, I don't want to.

He walks away from me and towards a large building, with hundreds of windows and a great, big brown door. I rush after Stan, before he can go any further away from me.

A big guy, who I'm assuming is a bouncer, nods at Stan and I, then pushes the two of us in front of the door.

"It's Stan." He breathes into the mic.

"Open." a female commands through the speaker.

And the big double doors open slowly. I haven't seen anything like this.

Ever.

Both Stan and I walk through the doors, and before I can turn around to see outside from in, the doors slam shut.

"Well hello there." A woman says, she sounds a lot like the woman who spoke through the speakers.

I turn around to face her.

"You must be Scarlett, welcome honey." She pulls me into a hug, I've never really been embraced before. Her rose scent gets my eyes fizzing.

It stings.

She pulls away from the hug and draws her hand out her fair curls bouncing, " I'm Fawn, and you will be an experiment. I am here to fix this investigation once and for all!" I shake her hand, not having a clue on what she's talking about.

"She'll be fine with me Stan." Fawn says, she points at a room, "Go relax, I'll be with this one."

Stan obeys her, goes to the room she ordered him to go to and shuts the door behind him.

"Well you see honey, Stan has been noticing things, and he's worried about you." She hooks her arm through my arm and starts walking, and I have no choice but to follow her.

Stan would never ever worry about me. Never in a million years.

It's as if she can read my mind she says, "I'm serious, no lie hun, he really does care about you, he's worried to shreds."

I still don't understand." I reply, still not having one bit of a clue what's going on.

"He has told us... things we're confused about. We didn't believe him at first, until he started taping stuff."

"Who are you guys? What is this place?" I question, I'm so freaked out right now, I forget about Stan already.

"We are an organization that helps beings with supernatural abilities, our clients are forever happy with the results."

"Are you going to operate on me?" I worrying again.

"No. No. No, of course not." She finally stops walking, so do I.

The room we're in is dark. 

"Lights." Fawn says, and they turn on.

My attention though, is still focused on her. Not the room.

"So what do you do?"

She smiles, but it's not a friendly smile. It's a creepy one.

"We'll test you, and everything follows from there." Fawn glows, "Look over there."

Fawn is pointing at a small room, it's the room Stan was sent to. He sees both of us and waves.

Well at least to Fawn he does.

"Sweet." she says.

"I guess there might be things going on. I'm glad your going to hep." I give her a small smile.

"No problemo hun." She draws me into a hug. I'm thinking about so much I don't realise something..

Shit!

My thoughts stop abruptly as I see a claustrophobic glass box. And sticking out from the inside, are small to big metal spikes, shining ever so brightly.

This time I pull away from the hug.

"What is that?!" I squeak, before breaking down into tears. "What kind of test is that?"

"Look hon-"

"Don't call me that." I snap

"Fine. You are someone we've never seen before. An extraordinary supernatural being. We want to see how far you can reach, in terms of healing, speed etcetera. We all want to help you."

I try to run out but the other freaks grab me and push me towards the box.

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOO." I kick the guy who is holding me and give him an evil slap. Serves him right.

"I will force you into that box myself if I have to.. Scar." Fawns voice hits every corner of the room. "Get in."

There's no escape. More freaks are surrounding me, I just have to get in.

"You can do this. You can." I say mentally.

I remove my shoes and socks,and apply the cream they give me.

On the side of the box there's a handle, so I grab it and swing myself in, careful not to stab myself,  yet.

And before I let go of the handle, which is saving me from this brutal death, I say "If I die from blood loss, I'm planting it on to your head. And you will carry my burden forever. And my ghost will also haunt you."

I ramble a whole load of crap, and before I know it one of those freaks push my hand off the handle.

I screamed, exactly how I did in the morning to wake me up, only this time it's to release my fear...

The spikes pierce through my flesh, I'm screaming so much I forget about everything but the pain.

Blood is everywhere, and now I have holes in me.

I fall to my knees.

More screams.

There's as much as a bucketful of blood.

I think I'm going to die.

And that's when my body falls forward.

I close my eyes tightly.

Goodbye world.
