    其靈感來源取自席慕蓉的一篇詩—《一顆開花的樹》。

    席慕蓉的詩中提及：「佛於是把我化作一棵樹，長在你必經的路旁……」

    桃木便是女主角的化身，生長在橋旁的桃樹林中，在青梅主馬的影響下，親近人類，無意間對長期觀察的對象中產生情感。

    對方是地方望族的少爺，在前往王都就任時，某一天來到桃樹林前對她發誓，三年後一定會回到同一個地方再次欣賞家鄉的景色。

    奈何苦等三年，他始終沒出現，桃牧燃起想去人間遊歷一番的念頭，一邊找尋苦等三年的人。

    她不顧其他桃樹反對，毅然決然的幻化為人形在人世間遊走。

    準備前往尋找人時，桃牧卻意外的遇到正巧正在尋找「主花」的槐樹群，因而跟他們有所接觸，間接的麻煩事接二連三的找上門來。

    這是桃牧始料未及的事，她沒料到自己苦苦想前去王都所尋找的人竟然早已經遺忘了這個約定，桃牧最後因身體遭受劇毒的侵擾，最後迫不得已回到原來的出生地重新開始。
