The Feels - I'm Fine

wiping away my tears

these days they hardly seem to stop

I don't know why

but they always come

I'm perfectly fine

I sleep, eat , and breath

like everyone else

I hang out with my friends and family

I'm doing what I love

and I write but...

Why?

why can't I shake off this feeling that I'm missing something

that there's an emptiness in my heart that aches

and every time

I see my smiling face

in all those Oh! So sweet photos I've kept

the tears come twice more powerful

in painful, wracking bouts

But I was so careless

one day they asked me

"are you OKAY"

I said I was fine

and that was the truth

after all there is no reason for me to be anything other than better

there are people who had to deal with much more

and compared to them my daily issues in life

are minuscule

are nothing

and even if I told them what I thought

might be going on with me...

why should THEY care what I'm feeling?

why does it matter to THEM

they don't care

their concerns mean nothing

to them

I'm perfectly fine

and I know the issues are on me

I shouldn't be feeling this way
