Staring dryly at the script in hand, the Nightmare King chuckled in bemusement. "While I have no clue what the Author has in store, or why he even decided to go along with this, I shall appease the masses by telling my story...or at least my reason."
Snapping his fingers, he tossed the script away, and crossed his legs to a T as he leaned back into his throne. "Well, it's nothing grand as what you might expect." He started with a easy-going chuckle. "I did not have a scarring past, nor have I been unceremoniously dumped into a pit of radioactive acid...though the SDC wished I had if only to explain the brilliance that is me."
Stopping for a moment, he shrugged. "If anything, I became a villain because I was bored." Letting that settle in for a moment, he nodded. "Yes, I was bored. What was I bored of...well..." Lips twisting into a scowl, his fingers crackled with violent blue sparks. Frost crackling around the arms of his seat. "That would be the world, in case you hadn't noticed."
"With the Dream Catcher's," monsters that you do not want to meet on any day, "causing chaos in the world, it was the perfect chance for the SDC to take control of the matter, and press their position in the world as Heroes." He spat in disdain. "While I have to admit they do a good job in keeping pest-control of those little cretins, the fact that I have yet to see any so called Heroes that fit the cut." "All of them are weak stiffs that can't make things fun for me! They won't even engage in playful banter while I whoop them back and forth like the kids they are." Because that's all they are, kids who don't know the meaning of the word Hero. "And by whoop, I mean whoop, never kill. Killing the brats would be dull, and you never know. One of them might loosen up enough to give me some fun next time around." Might, but not expected.
Pout dropping, he simply sighed in weariness. "Call me a fan for the classics, but I wanna have a good old smack down with Heroes who do the things they do because it's right, not because it's the damn law, or they're job. Maybe I should have moved to the Oriental Platform. Hear they have more fun there." Doesn't hurt that the Female Heroes there are hot.
After a moments thought, he simply shrugged. "Oh well, a loss is a loss." Stopping for a moment, he hummed in thought. "What was I doing here again?"
"...Ah...no, that's not it...was about that...no..." After a long moment of science, he hummed in bemusmenet. "Anyway, temporary memory loss aside, at the moment, the main reason I have for being a Villain is to have some fun really. And to find my own personal Arch-Nemesis," Nodding at the genius of it, he cackled. "Preferably female, strong, and fierce enough to try and lop my head off without a moments notice!" Those types are always fun to annoy! Even more so when you flirt with them!
...well, joking aside...well, not really, but you get the idea. "I'm being truthful about wanting to have a good showdown with a true Hero." Smile dropping, the darkness around him seemed to thicken as his eyes seemed very, very tired. "I'm getting tired of having to go through all these wash-outs. The law is not good enough to give me the Hero I need...it was never good enough."
With the only thing visible now being the crackling crimson eyes of the Nightmare King, a soft chuckle waste only thing that's been heard. "These days, it's not only the SDC I have to deal with, but upstarts that either try to take my position as Nightmare King, or the Dream Catcher's trying to invade my territory. I getting sick of having to clean my lair all the time. The blood was getting annoying...and sticky...annoyingly sticky."
Sighing in irritation, he simply smiled in the darkness, crimson eyes crackling inhumanly in the sea of black. "If things don't get fun for my tastes, then I may have to take things into my own hands." Whether they be Villains, or Heroes. The clock is ticking. They won't like it when it finally rings.
