Taking notes can be so helpful. So, before you get to writing, consider the following. Make a list of characters, name, gender, age, looks, personality, etc. than, since we on the subject of fantasy, if your story takes place in an alternate realm, draw out maps of your world. Places the characters will go, talk about. Then make a time line. What you want your characters do do and what order you want them in. Maybe just the major spots in the story or a long time line. And when you are done you repeat the process, all the way back to characters. And you repeat it and repeat it until you have your story just the way you want it. Then, you start the drafts
