Every fantasy story begins with an idea. A dream, inspiration from a book or movie or something you saw, maybe something you or a friend played as a game? Either way, it starts as an idea. So, once you get the idea write it down in a short sentence or two. It may be best to keep an idea journal, and then you can rephrase and start writing down ideas. Like characters, villains, who plays what role, maybe how you want it to start and end. And then, there you have an idea. And after that you can start on the notes, which are very, very helpful.
