Helping each other with homework became part of our daily routine.

I waited for Korn.

If Korn finished first...

He waited for me.

Neither of us ever said it out loud.

Korn copied a few notes from the reference books while I finished answering the questions.

He laughed.

"I've practiced since primary school."

I couldn't help laughing.

When we left the library, the school grounds were almost empty.

The sun was beginning to set.

Students were slowly heading home.

Korn walked beside me until we reached the school gate.

"For treating me the same as before."

I smiled.

He looked down for a moment.

"And you're still my junior."

His eyes met mine.

Neither of us looked away.

Then someone called my name.

"Phawin!"

It was Narin.

He waved from across the street.

"I've been waiting!"

I smiled and turned toward him.

"I'm coming."

When I looked back...

Korn was still standing at the school gate.

He smiled.

But this time...

There was sadness hidden behind it.

Because no matter how close we had become...
