"Korn forgot this."

"Let's go."

"We can stop by."

The walk was quiet.

When we reached the house, Aunt Busaba opened the door.

"Oh, Phawin! Narin!"

"What a surprise."

Narin smiled.

"We came to see Korn."

"He forgot his notebook."

Busaba's expression softened.

"That's very thoughtful."

"He's upstairs."

"He still has a slight fever."

I climbed the stairs slowly.

The bedroom door was slightly open.

I knocked gently.

"Korn?"

A weak voice answered.

"Come in."

I stepped inside.

Korn was sitting on his bed with a blanket wrapped around his shoulders.

His hair was messy.

He looked exhausted.

When he saw me...

His eyes widened.

"P'Phawin?"

"What are you doing here?"

I held out the notebook.

"You forgot this."

For a moment...

He just looked at me.

"You came..."

"...just to bring my homework?"

I smiled.

"You'd do the same for me."

He laughed softly.

"I would."

His smile was tired.

But genuine.

I placed the notebook on the table beside his bed.

"You should rest."

"Don't worry about school."

"We'll catch up together."

Korn nodded slowly.

"Thank you..."

"No."

"Really."

"Thank you for coming."

I smiled one last time before leaving the room.

As I closed the door behind me...

I didn't notice Korn looking down at the notebook.

Or the small smile that appeared on his face.

For the first time in days...
