雨季裡的一場聚會

梅雨季的台北。連續十七天的降雨讓整座城市散發著一種霉味與濕氣交織的氣息。六個大學時代的朋友聚集在一棟老舊公寓的頂樓加蓋，名義上是為了好久不見的聚會，實際上每個人都有來這裡的理由——不是為了見面，而是為了確認某些事情。

屋主林郁辰在三個月前接手了這間公寓，繼承自一位他從未見過的遠房親戚。公寓的上一任住戶在一年前搬離，原因不明。信箱裡還留著沒人領取的信件，廚房櫥櫃裡有半包未開封的咖啡豆，保存期限是去年七月。

聚會的主意是宋知意提的。她說想聽大家講鬼故事——「就像大學露營那樣」。沒有人拒絕，也沒有人問她為什麼在分手三年後突然想見面。

那晚的雨特別大。雨水打在鐵皮屋頂上的聲音，像是不成節奏的鼓點。他們圍坐在客廳中央，用一盞從二手市集買來的青瓷油燈代替營火。沒有人知道那盞燈是林郁辰從公寓儲藏室深處挖出來的，燈座上刻著一行磨損的字跡，看起來像是日文，但讀起來的發音卻卡在喉嚨裡出不來。

他們約定每個人講一個故事，講完後熄滅一根蠟燭。這是網路上查到的規則。他們都以為這只是規則。
