國民都相信這個大壩是由神仙修築，所有人都對大壩敬畏有加。他們相信只要誠心修練，就會得到神仙的青睞而位列仙班。另外由於沒人到過大壩的頂端，因此也有傳說只要能登上壩頂，神仙也會獎賞那個人的辛勞而賜與神力即刻成仙。有人夢想爬上頂端立刻成仙，也有人腳踏實地潛心修練。

從小就被父母賣進溫家做僕從的溫木豆被溫家的大小姐溫念慈拉著前去挑戰爬壩，跟著另一個爬壩手的同伴威漢一起展開了修仙之路。
