Chapter XXI: Manipulated, Part 2
Back on the Third Floor of the Sadalmelik Building, as Ryujin, Hageshi, and Haruto rescued the girls, the girls want to team up with them. Then suddenly, they see shadows approaching them while making a decision.
"Who's there?! Show yourself!", Ryujin yells to confirm the identities of the shadows.
As the shadows came up, it turns out to be Inoshiro and Kuebiko.
"Oh thank goodness" (Hageshi)
"Where did you two came from?" (Haruto)
"We just finished freeing the teachers and they are now at the bottom of Sadalsuud Building" (Inoshiro)
"Hmm, where did you free the teachers? (Hageshi)
"Just downstairs" (Kuebiko)
"Alright, since this might still be a critical situation, let's go down to the Sadalsuud Building where they at. We need to support and defend our instructors from hefty invaders!" (Ryujin)
"Roger that" (Everyone)
"As for the line of defense, me, Haruto, and Inoshiro will lead the way. Inoshiro, sense radiated heat with the building so we could go there." (Ryujin)
"I heard that they are going to the underground laboratory there" (Inoshiro)
"Underground Laboratory? That sounds like FNAF Sister Location!" (Haruto)
"Or worse, Eerie" (Hageshi)
"Alright, main objective is to secure and protect the teachers, let's go!" (Ryujin)
Back in the dimly lit corridor, Dr. Aoshima and Hajime find themselves face-to-face with a hooded man, his eyes gleaming with a sinister intensity. The air is thick with tension, each breath they take echoing in the oppressive silence. The hooded man wastes no time, lunging forward with a ferocity that sends a jolt of fear through the two teachers. His wild swing connects with a bundle of electric cables running along the wall, sending them sparking and hissing as they come loose.
Hajime: "Dr. Aoshima, we need to think fast!"
Dr. Aoshima nods, his eyes wide with a mixture of fear and determination. Hajime's mind races as he assesses the situation, an idea sparking to life.
Hajime: "I've got an idea. I'm going to use an attractive force to move those cables. You need to manipulate the electricity towards him. Do you think you can do it?"
Dr. Aoshima takes a deep breath, his hands trembling slightly but his resolve firm. He nods, his voice steady.
Dr. Aoshima: "I can do it. Let's give it a try."
Hajime focuses his energy, his hands glowing with a soft, magnetic light. With a grunt of effort, he directs the cables towards the hooded man. The cables move like serpents, slithering across the floor with a life of their own. The hooded man flinches, his eyes widening in surprise as the cables wrap around his legs, binding him in place.
Dr. Aoshima closes his eyes, his hands crackling with electrical energy. He raises them, directing the flow of electricity through the cables. The air fills with the sharp smell of ozone as the electricity surges forward, a bright arc of blue lightning connecting with the hooded man.
Hajime: "Now, Dr. Aoshima!"
With a final surge of energy, the electricity zaps the hooded man, causing his body to convulse violently. The hood he wears disintegrates in the onslaught, revealing a familiar face beneath. Hajime and Dr. Aoshima gasp in unison.
Hajime: "It's a student from the Aquarius District... This changes everything."
Dr. Aoshima: "We need to figure out what's going on here. Quickly, before more of them come."
They hurry down the corridor, their footsteps echoing in the empty hall. As they round a corner, they see Ryujin and the others running towards them, their expressions a mixture of relief and urgency.
Ryujin: "Hajime-sensei! Dr. Aoshima! Thank goodness we found you."
Before they can catch their breath, a group of hooded men appears at the end of the corridor, their dark forms moving swiftly and silently. Without a word, they begin to chase the group, their footsteps pounding like a drumbeat in the confined space.
Hajime: "Run! We need to get out of here!"
They turn and bolt, their hearts pounding in their chests as they sprint down the corridor. The hooded men are relentless, gaining ground with each passing second.
While they run, Hajime shouts over his shoulder, explaining the plan to Ryujin and the others.
Hajime: "Listen up! We need to take back the control room. It's the only way to stop this madness. Shinse and Yamada are already working on it, but we need to regroup and support them. Dr. Aoshima and I will lead the way. Ryujin, you and the others form a defensive line to hold off these guys."
Ryujin nods, his face set with determination.
Ryujin: "Got it, Hajime-sensei. We'll hold them off as best we can."
They skid around a corner, bursting into a large atrium filled with overturned furniture and debris. Hajime points to a staircase on the far side.
Hajime: "That way! Head for the control room!"
As they dash towards the staircase, the hooded men catch up, their dark forms leaping over obstacles with unnatural agility. Ryujin, Inoshiro, and Haruto turn to face them, their powers flaring to life.
Ryujin: "Inoshiro, take the left! Haruto, cover the right! We'll hold them here!"
Inoshiro: "Got it!"
Haruto: "Let's do this!"
Ryujin's hands crackle with electricity as he unleashes a torrent of lightning at the advancing hooded men. Inoshiro summons a wall of fire, creating a barrier that forces the attackers to slow their advance. Haruto uses his earth powers to create a series of stone pillars, blocking the path and giving their group precious seconds to escape.
Hajime and Dr. Aoshima lead the rest of the group up the staircase, their hearts pounding as they reach the second floor. They can hear the sounds of battle below, the clash of powers and the cries of their friends echoing through the atrium.
Dr. Aoshima: "We need to hurry! They can't hold them off forever!"
They race down the hallway, their goal clear in their minds. The control room is just ahead, the door slightly ajar. They burst inside, finding Shinse and Yamada frantically working at the control panels.
Kusakaze: "Hajime-sensei! We're almost there. Just a few more seconds!"
Yamada: "We need to reroute the power to the main system. That should give us control over the security systems again."
Hajime: "Do it quickly! We've got company."
Shinse's fingers fly over the controls, his face a mask of concentration. Yamada works alongside him, their combined efforts a symphony of speed and precision.
Outside, the sounds of battle grow louder, the clash of powers echoing through the halls. Ryujin, Inoshiro, and Haruto fight valiantly, their determination unwavering despite the overwhelming odds, also with Hageshi, Kitsune, Rikiyo, Saki, and Kuebiko at their backs.
Ryujin: "We can't let them through! Hold the line!"
Inoshiro: "I'm running out of energy!"
Haruto: "We need backup, now!"
Just as the situation seems dire, the control panel beeps, and the lights in the room flicker back to life. Shinse and Yamada look up, triumphant smiles on their faces.
Shinse: "We did it! We've got control!"
Yamada: "Let's use the security systems to lock down the building. That should buy us some time."
Hajime: "Excellent work. Let's secure the exits and regroup with the others."
They quickly activate the security protocols, sealing off the entrances and exits to the building. The sounds of battle outside diminish as the hooded men find themselves trapped, their escape routes cut off.
Ryujin and the others fight their way back to the control room, their bodies bruised and battered but their spirits unbroken. They burst through the door, relief flooding their faces as they see Hajime and Dr. Aoshima waiting for them.
Ryujin: "We held them off, but it wasn't easy. What's the next move?"
Hajime: "We've secured the building, but we need to figure out who's behind this and why. Shinse, can you access the security footage?"
Shinse nods, his fingers flying over the keyboard as he pulls up the surveillance feeds. The monitors flicker to life, showing various parts of the campus and the hooded men who have invaded it.
Dr. Aoshima: "There! Zoom in on that group."
The screen zooms in, revealing a group of hooded figures huddled together, their faces hidden in shadow. One of them steps forward, pulling back their hood to reveal the familiar face of Professor Nakamura.
Nakamura: "We've only just begun, Principal Kimura. The power of the constellations will be ours, and there's nothing you can do to stop us."
Hajime: "We'll see about that."
With their next steps clear, the group prepares for the final confrontation. The battle for the university is far from over, but with their combined strength and determination, they know they have a fighting chance. The time for action is now, and they are ready to face whatever challenges lie ahead.
