It's another normal day in school. Late spring has made the weather so beautiful I would give everything to go out and enjoy the sun. Alas I can't and am stuck in this room filled with other people who find me odd and strange at first glance while listening what our French teacher explains about its grammar. A language were one needs to practise more on the exceptions rather its basic rules. With a quiet sigh I listened and noted, yet my eyes can't stop wandering towards the window to the crystal blue sky.
As the bell finally rang I packed in my own time my bag while the others rushed out. Down the long corridor I walked while my mind already drifted to other thoughts, to my story that I write and quickly decided that I will stop by at the park to write a bit before going home. A grin of excitement and joy began to curve to the thought.
Suddenly my face dug into something white, warm, big, soft and smelled nice of deodorant. Thanks to dance classes it was easy to hold my balance and I stepped back. I blinked as I noticed a boy turning around with a questioned glare. "Sorry." I gave nervously and placed my hand folded at my nose and mouth. My cheeks and ears began to grow warm as I saw his face and his dark eyes.
"It's ok." He gave brief friendly grin. Slowly he crouched and collected the books and papers he dropped.

He blinked as if he were pulled out of some trance and looked at me surprised. "Did you write this?" He rose from his crouching position and gave me the paper.

"I'm Lazar but you can call me 'L'. What's your name? I'm new around here." He gave a friendly smile.
I figured as much that he was new here. To be one of the last in here after bell rings is special unless having detention and seeing him for the first time. "I'm Helen." I grinned of shyness. I looked to the ground but soon found my courage to face him. His dark eyes didn't judge me from the beginning and treats me like I would have done too, except gotten a glimpse of my story which is very private and personal. "Do you need any help?" I asked bravely.
"Thanks but no. I can find my way out." He grinned and walked off.
Quickly I paced to the park, took a seat at my favorite bench under the yew tree by the lake, drew out my small folder with my story and a pencil and started to write on where I last left off. My detective solving cases in a vast and dark world and brings in justice and light to that world with his bright mind and clear conscience. Just as I was writing in the middle of a fighting scene the park clock tolled six o'clock. I should hurry home or my parents will worry sick. Quickly packed in my story and started to run home.
Suddenly at one corner I ran into someone and fell. "I'm sorry! Are you hurt, sir?" I apologized deeply as I realized I managed to run into an elderly man. The man said nothing but groaned while I helped him up and placed his walking cane at his hand. "My deepest apologizes for running into you. I'll try my best to look out in future. At home my parents and little sister Sophie started dinner without me and I quickly joined in. As always my parents would ask how was school and if I was in the park while Sophie would try to annoy me by telling I was staring at young boys training or something similar. I rolled my eyes. I can't get mad over delicious food my parents cooked.
After dinner in my room I started doing my homework. Luckily it's not much today and no tests awaiting this week for a change. As I was done I wanted to take a shower but Sophie was already using it, as always. So I decided to prepare the rest for the next day while listening to some music. While packing my bag I noticed an odd crystal like ball about as large as a marble. It shown in the light every colour of the prisma. As if a piece of rainbow is captured in it. Suddenly a bright white light began to shine from within the stone. Brighter by the second and soon it was so bright I had close my eyes. I don't know how long I kept my eyes closed but as I opened to see, the crystal ball was nowhere to be seen. Without thinking I turned my left hand and found there a beautiful embroidery in black in the middle my hand connected round my middle finger like a ring. How can a crystal ball do something like this? No, it's impossible. I must be dreaming. I rubbed my eyes and pinched my arm. The tattoo was still there. What? Maybe with water things will clear one way or another. Darn! Sophie is surely still using the shower. Quickly I went to the bathroom door, still locked and was Sophie shrieking her head off as a diva. "Sophie! How long do you need?" I asked.

I waited patiently five minuets. She wasn't done and waited another five. There was no difference. "Urg! Sophie!" I placed a fist at the door and leaned my forehead against it. I heard evil laughter from the other side. I wish there would come suddenly only cold water for her to stop this instant. Cold water never really bothered me since I was small. As I stood under the shower warm water came streaming down. What was that about cold water? Suddenly I felt the cold water streaming. I blinked and wondered if it is connected to the tattoo. I inspected my left hand carefully. Suddenly the shower stopped and I looked up. Not far from my open hand with the tattoo a huge ball of water floated. I gasped and dropped my hand. Immediately the ball fell and made a huge splash. Ops! Wait a second, can-can I control water? Later in bed I couldn't find my sleep. My mind can't leave the question be and I couldn't help stop looking at my hand that possess a great power. I always loved the element water so in a way a dream come true, just totally unexpected. As the time came to get for school I was ready earlier than usual and headed off. Shyly as my cheeks and ears grew warm I showed to him my hand. Suddenly in my mind came up the thought that maybe he misplaced the crystal ball. Well returning it might be difficult. "L, did you miss something yesterday after I bumped into you?"
"I had all my papers with me. Did you miss something?"
"No, but I found an odd object and wondered if perhaps it belonged to you."
"You mean the crystal ball?" He smirked and gently pulled me up to my feet by the hand I showed. I stared at him speechless. "I have mine hidden in plain sight like yours."
