"Do you think he'll like all the Christmas decorations?" Adrien asked hopefully, hanging up a large white bauble onto the Christmas tree.
'I wish everything didn't have to be sliver or white.' Adrien thought before shaking the though away and grab another decoration, 'As long as dad comes down, that's all that matters.'
Adrien glance at the time and frown, "He should be down here already. Did you call him?" He turns to Nathalie, who avoids eye contact.
"Perhaps we should give him a few more minutes." She says, trying to reassure him but it's hard to convince Adrien when she doesn't believe it herself.
Adrien looks at the bauble in his hands before dropping it back in the box, his Christmas spirit depleting from his body. "What's the point? He's not coming." He sighs and walks up the stairs to his room.
Adrien's Room
"Don't know why I expected this year to be any different..." Adrien frowned.
"Merry Christmas, kid." Plagg says, flying out of Adrien's pocket and follows him to his bed.
"Thanks, Plagg," Adrien gave him a small weak smile before collapsing onto the bed, bringing his knees up to his chest as he wraps his arms around them, "He's still only thinking of himself! I just want this terrible day to be over and done with!" He frowns.
"Hey..." Plagg mutters before flying away and coming back with a present wrapped in green and gold wrapping paper, "Why not open Lily's gift? It might cheer you up, you've been pleading with her all week to open it early." He makes a light joke, trying to lighten Adrien's mood.
"Yeah...thanks." Adrien rests his legs on his bed, bringing the present up to rest on top of them.
"So, what did she get you?" Plagg asked, curious.
"I don't know." Adrien began to slowly unwrap it with the upmost care to not ruin the gift inside. "It's...a photo album?" He muttered and lifted it up, slightly surprised at how heavy it felt in his hands.
"What kind of photo album is it?" Plagg questioned.
Adrien opened the first page, and he smiled so widely at it. It was a group photo of him, Nino, Lily, Chloé and Sabrina on his first day of school. Another group photo of him, Félix, Zoé, Chloé, Sabrina and Lily at various ages. His class pictures. Pictures of his birthday with his classmates and Lily's parents along with Placide. Lily and him, posing with the hat she made for contest. The ones with him, Lily and Manon. One of him and Lily at the Mime show. The one of him and Lily at Jagged's concert. There was another that he never expected to see, it was a picture of him with his dad. His head was laying down on his dad's lap while his dad simply placed his hand on head. He was also smiling.
"Wow, those are some great pictures. She put a lot of thought into it." Plagg commented.
Adrien nodded silently. He knew that Lily truly cared about him and believed that he deserved everything that life has to offer him.
"I want to see Lily." Adrien declared, turning to his Kwami, "Plagg, Claws Out!"
Plagg lets out a cry of surprise before he gets sucked into the ring. Now suited up, Cat Noir cradles the album to his chest and jump out his window, running through the empty streets of Paris until he reaches his destination. Lily's house.
Cat Noir jump onto her small balcony, balancing in a cat-like stance as he knocks on the window, trying to catch a peak of his friend through the curtains.
'Please be in.' Cat Noir silently beg, his knocking on the window becoming more persistent the longer he's out here.
Finally, the curtains are pulled back and Cat Noir can see Lily stare at him with a mixture of confusion and bewilderment.
Rossi Residence - Lily's Room
"Cat Noir?" Lily blink in confusion, walking over the window as the Kwamis were quick to hide away somewhere in her room.
"Lily!" The black feline shouts, practically jumping through the window to tackle her to the floor as he buries his head in the space between her neck and shoulder.
'Is he crying?' Lily furrows her brows in concern as she brings her arms up to wrap around the boy, light sniffles leaving him as he silently cries against her neck.
'What's digging into my stomach?' Lily bit back a wince and focus her attention on the emotional blonde on top of her.
"What's wrong?" Lily asked, threading her fingers through his hair causing him to relax further into her.
"Just wanted to see you..." He murmurs, "It's my first Christmas without mom and I didn't want to be alone."
"I'm sorry to hear that...is there anyone else in the house you can spend Christmas with?" Lily's heart clenches as she's forced to act neutral with Cat Noir, having to pretend that she doesn't know it's Adrien under the mask.
He scoffs, "I wish..." while nuzzling his nose further against her neck, "My dad doesn't seem to care about anyone other than himself! Why did I even bother getting hopeful..." He rambles.
'Oh Adrien.' Lily thought, sadly.
Lily hated how Gabriel practically ignored his son during this holiday when he really wanted him to spend time with him. It's true that it's hard when a loved one is gone. But that person would still want you to cherish your life even when they're no longer there. Adrien didn't deserve to suffer during this holiday.
"Plagg, Claws In..."
"Huh?" Lily said dumbly, not believing the words she just heard.
'No, surely I misheard, right?' Her eyes widen in surprise as she spots a greenish hue surround the boy's body as his hero suit dissolves into thin air, 'Okay, this was not on my Christmas list.'
"Adrien?" Lily mutter in disbelief.
Adrien sharply looks up from Lily's shoulder, his eyes wide in fear, "H-How do you know it's me?" He stuttered.
'Does he not realize he muttered those words? Did he do it unconsciously?' Lily thought, confused.
"You detransformed, kid." Plagg stated, flying in air between them.
"I did...?" Adrien blinked in surprise.
The black cat Kwami nods, crossing his small arms across his chest.
"Lily, please don't tell anyone about this." Adrien pleaded.
Lily cupped his cheeks with assurance, "Don't worry, I won't."
Adrien let out a sigh of relief.
"How about a secret for a secret?" Lily suggested.
"Huh?" Adrien blinked in confusion.
"Tikki, Spots On!" Lily called out and Tikki was sucked into the earrings and transformed into Lady Scarlet.158Please respect copyright.PENANAHdEfQigqGt
"You-You're Lady Scarlet?" Adrien stuttered.
Lady Scarlet nodded, "Yeah. Tikki, Spots Off." She destransformed back into her civilian form, "And you're Cat Noir."
"Y-Yeah." Adrien rubbed the back of his head sheepishly.
"So, did you like my present?" Lily joked.
"Yes, I do." Adrien smiled softly as he picked up the photo album.
"Would you like to meet the others?" Lily offered.
"Others?" Adrien asked.158Please respect copyright.PENANADsYL2EJZz7
"Everyone, you can come out." Lily called out.
All of the Kwamis soon came out of their hiding places. Adrien and Plagg were surprised by the number of Kwamis in the room.
"Adrien, Plagg, I would like to introduce you to my Kwamis who live in my Miracle Box."
"Whoa." Adrien and Plagg awed at the Kwamis.
"Hello Adrien." Chass floated up to Adrien.
"Chass, it's good to see you again." Adrien greeted back.
"Good to see you too." Chass smiled.
"Wait minute, did you say that you have a Miracle Box, Lily?" Plagg asked.
"Yeah, it was entrusted to me by my ancestor who was a holder of the Phoenix Miraculous. I'm now the Guardian of it." Lily replied.
"Interesting." Plagg commented.
"Adrien, would you like to come and eat with my family?" Lily suggested.
"Really? They won't mind?" Adrien questioned.
"Not at all. Plagg, you're welcome to have some cheese." Lily assured the two.
"You had me at 'cheese'." Plagg grinned.
Lily and Adrien chuckled.
"Come on, let's go." Lily gently took Adrien's hand and led him out of her room with the Kwamis behind them.
Living Room
Lily, Adrien and Kwamis came into the living room where the Christmas tree was. Adrien and Plagg were awe at the tree.
"Wow, you and parents did a great job on the tree." Adrien complimented.
"Thanks, Adrien," Lily thanked him, "The Kwamis also helped."
"The Kwamis did what?!" Plagg exclaimed.
"They helped us decorate."
Lily, Adrien and the Kwamis turned to the voices and saw John and May near the doorway to the kitchen.
"They did a wonderful job." May smiled.
"Uh...is that cheese up for grabs?" Plagg asked, meekly.
"Plagg!" Adrien gasped.
"What?" Plagg shrugged.
Lily, her parents and Kwamis chuckled.
"Seeing you have a Black Cat Kwami, I assume that you must be Cat Noir, Adrien." John concluded.
"I am." Adrien confirmed.
"Don't worry, we'll keep your hero identity a secret, Adrien." May assured him.
"Thank you, Mrs. Rossi." Adrien smiled.
"Wait a minute, does your dad know you're here, Adrien?" John asked, confused.
"...no. I ran away and decided to come here." Adrien admitted, sheepishly.
"Adrien, your dad is going to be worried sick about you." May reminded him.
"I'm not sure about that." Adrien frowned.
Suddenly, John and Lily's cellphone rang. They quickly answered.
"Hello?" They asked.
"Adrien is missing!" Natalie and Chloé shouted from their phones.
"What?" John and Lily asked.
"We don't know where he is. Everyone is going out to look for him." Natalie informed.
"Don't worry, we found him, Natalie." John assured.
"You did?" Natalie asked, surprised.
"He's at our house. Apparently, Cat Noir found him and Adrien asked him to bring him here." John explained.
Natalie let out a sigh of relief, "Thank goodness."
"You hear that? Adrien is fine and he's at my house." Lily reported.
"Thank goodness." Chloé let out a sigh of relief.
Then an idea hit Lily, and she glanced at her dad. Both seemed to have the same idea.
"Be right back." Lily and John said before leaving the room.
"What are they doing?" Adrien asked, confused.
May smiled softly, "I have a pretty good idea. In the meantime, could you and the Kwamis help me bring their meals into Lily's room?" She requested.
"Sure." Adrien agreed.
And so, May, Adrien and the Kwamis brought their favorite dishes up into Lily's room.
John Rossi left the living room and stood in the hallway.
"Hey Natalie, are you still there?" John asked.
"Yes." Natalie confirmed.
"Can you hand the phone to Gabriel? I need to talk to him." John requested.
"...alright." Natalie accepted and handed the phone to Gabriel.
"Hello?" Gabriel questioned.
"Hey Gabriel, I want to know the reason WHY Adrien ran away earlier." John demanded.
Gabriel let out a sigh, "It's already been a year since she's been gone, John...I miss her, terribly." He admitted.
"Gabriel, you're not the only one who misses her. We all do. She was like a sister to me and May." John stated.
"I know," Gabriel paused, "I still remember the times you three would conspire against me."
John chuckled, "Good times, huh?"
"Good times indeed." Gabriel agreed.
John smiled softly, "Yeah...Now, there's something I need you to do for me, Gabriel."
"What is it?" Gabriel asked.
"I want you to come over to our house." John replied.
"What?" Gabriel blinked in confusion.
"Christmas is about spending time with your loved ones. I'm sure Adrien would love it if you could be here with us. Also, Natalie and Placide are invited to come." John explained.
"John..." Gabriel trailed off.
"You BETTER be on your way right now or else I'll tell Adrien an embarrassing story about you." John threatened.
Gabriel was silent for a moment and let out another sigh of defeat, "Alright, I'll come."
"Good. Now you better get going or else I'll tell him that story." John stated.
"You can be so annoying sometimes, John." Gabriel complained.
"I know. That's why I'm so likeable." John teased before he hung up.
A few minutes later, the doorbell rang.
"I'll get it!" Lily opened the door which revealed Gabriel, Natalie and Placide, "Oh good, you're here. Adrien's in the living room." She said.
Gabriel nodded as he walked in along with Nathalie and Placide. Adrien placed his cup of hot cocoa down on the coffee table and stood when he saw his dad.
"Dad, I-" Adrien started.
But he was cut off when Gabriel wrapped his arms around him. Adrien blinked in shock for a moment and then wrapped his arms around his dad's waist.
"I was so worried about you, Adrien. I thought something bad happened to you." Gabriel admitted.
"I'm sorry, father. I was upset, thinking the worst." Adrien apologized.
Gabriel let go and placed his hands on Adrien's shoulders, "I miss her too, Adrien. I also wish that your mother was here with us." He admitted.
"I wish she was here too. But I believe that...she would want us to celebrate even if she's not here." Adrien stated.
Gabriel's eyes softened, "Yes she would."
The doorbell rang again.
"I'll get it!" Lily ran to the door.
Lily opened the door and smiled at who was stand there.
{A/N: Pretend that Marinette and Alya's families are not there. Félix and his mom are there along with Zoé.}
"Come on in, everyone." Lily gestured the group to come in.
So everyone followed Lily into the living room. Adrien and Gabriel were surprised to see the guests who arrived.
"I invited our friends. They were very worried about you, Adrien." Lily explained.
"I think it's a great that you did." May agreed.
Adrien turned to his dad, "Father, could we stay for a while? It's Christmas." He pleaded.
Gabriel glanced at his son, the Rossi family, his sister-in-law, nephew and his son's classmates' families. Perhaps, he should stay.
'Émilie would have wanted us to enjoy ourselves despite not being here.' Gabriel thought.
"Very well, I suppose we could." Gabriel agreed.
"Aww, brother!" Nino hugged his best friend.
Félix, Zoé, Chloé and Sabrina joined the hug.
"We were so worried!" Zoé said.
"Merry Christmas, Adrien." Nathalie smiled.
Adrien turned to Lily and hugged her tightly. "Thank you," He muttered in her ear.
She hugs back. "Anything for you, Adrien."
Lily's Room
The Kwamis were enjoying their meals in Lily's room as they silently watched a Christmas film. It was low volume with English captions so that no one could hear it from downstairs. They had explained to Plagg about Lily's real identity as a transmigrator. The Black Cat Kwami was very shocked to hear that Adrien's childhood friend was such an extraordinary person. But he was happy that the two found out each other's alter egos.
"You know, I think it's time that Adrien should meet the Guardian, right Plagg?" Tikki suggested.
"You know what, you're right, Tikki." Plagg agreed.
"We'll meet after the holidays." Trixx promised.
"Sounds like a plan." Plagg agreed once more.
Living Room
Everyone had finished dinner along with desserts. Then they opened presents together. They all enjoyed the presents they got from one another. Some were unexpected and some were very thoughtful. But for Adrien, this Christmas felt even more special with his friends and family here.
"Having fun, Adrien?" Lily asked, walking over to Adrien.
The two were standing under the doorway of the living room.
"Yeah, I think it's almost better than last year." Adrien admitted.
Lily smiled softly at his words. She was glad that there was no Akumatized Santa right now. Adrien deserved to have a good Christmas.
Sabrina, Chloé and Zoé couldn't help but giggle.
"What's so funny?" Adrien inquired.
Sabrina's eyes twinkled mischievously. "You two are standing under the mistletoe!" She exclaimed with delight.
Adrien and Lily glanced upwards, noticing the plant hanging above them.
"Um, what does that mean?" Adrien asked, puzzled.
"It's simple. You two kiss each other." Félix explained with a teasing tone.
Nino couldn't help but chuckle.
Lily and Adrien blushed crimson. The two looked to each other.
"You-You don't mind?" Adrien asked.
"Not at all." Lily assured him.
Adrien placed his left hand on Lily's right cheek. Then the two leaned towards each other and placed their lips against each other.
Everyone awed or cheered as the two kissed.
"They make a great couple, huh Gabriel?" Amélie inquired, watching the two.
"Perhaps so." Gabriel agreed, observing the two.
Adrien and Lily soon pulled away from each other with red cheeks.
"Before we end the evening, Lily will sing us a song." John said as he handed a guitar to his daughter, "You're all welcome to sing along as well."
Lily went over to the couch and sat down. Then she adjusted the strings and began plucking them. Soon she began to sing.
"It's holiday time
The most special of seasons
So come gather round
To remember the reason
It's not all the gifts
The food or decorations
But the Spirit of Love
That marks this celebration."
Everyone watches Lily sing with soft smiles.
"So come walk with me
Sing along and you'll see
On this holiday
Let love light the way."
Adrien joins in with Lily as he sits down next to her.
"You need nothing more
Than those you adore
On this holiday
Let love light the way."
Lily plucked a few strings. Everyone began to join in.
"We all have our ways
(We all have our ways)
Of observing this evening
(Of observing this evening)
Yet each of us shares
(Yet each of us shares)
Something we all believe in
(Something we all believe in)."
Lily sings solo for a moment.
"What makes this one night
Outshine all of the others"
Everyone joins in again.
"Is sharing our joy with our sisters and brothers
(our sisters and brothers)
So come sing with me
All together we'll be
On this holiday
Let love light the way
And down every street
Are new friends we can meet
On this holiday
Let love light our way."
Adrien gazes at Lily with a tender look as she plucked the strings of the guitar. To him, she looked like an angel as she played the guitar and sang with everyone. Lily gazed back at him with tenderness. She was happy that Adrien was enjoying himself.
"Every December
As we honor all our traditions
It's nice to remember
That it's not a big competition."
Lily sang solo for a moment,
"So let love be your mission."
Lily continued plucking a joyful tune. Everyone sang together again.
"The night outshines all the others
(outshines all the others)
With our sisters and our brothers
(With our sisters and our brothers)"
Everyone brightly smiled as they sang,
"So come walk with me
Sing along and you'll see
On this holiday
Let love light the way
As we stand around the tree
All together we'll be
On this holiday
Let love light the way."
Lily and May sang together for a moment.
"You need nothing more than those you adore."
Everyone sang together once more.
"On this holiday
Let love
Let love
Let love
Let love
Let love light the way."
With that, Christmas was celebrated on a good note for everyone. Adrien glanced at the photo on the wall of the Rossi's living room. It was a photo of him and his parents when he was younger.
"Merry Christmas, mom." Adrien smiled at the photo.
Eiffel Tower - Later
The Miraculous duo stood at the top of the tower.
"Lady Scarlet, there's something I've been waiting to tell you." Cat Noir said.
"What is it?" Lady Scarlet asked.
Cat Noir took a deep breath and let it out, "I love you, Lady Scarlet. With and without your mask." He confessed.
Lady Scarlet's cheeks turned the same shade of red as her suit. Then her eyes softened, "I love you too, Cat Noir. With and without the mask."
Cat Noir smiled and cupped Lady Scarlet's cheeks and kissed her on the lips. Lady Scarlet wrapped her arms around his neck as Cat Noir wrapped his arms around her waist.
The two separated and smiled as they leaned their foreheads against each other. The two of them spent the night sharing kisses and staring at the moon together. They held each other's hand as they leaned close together.
"I love you mon amour." He said while kissing her temple.
"I love you too mon cat." She replied while resting her head on his chest.
The song came from the show "Elena of Avalor". I thought it would be a great Christmas song for Lily to sing with everyone.
