Marinette is reading a magazine. "Leo: Your heart's gonna roar." She turns a page and sees pictures of Adrien in both pages. "Wow, roar!"
Her and Alya giggle.
Meanwhile, Lily, Chloé and Sabrina are watching the girls from a bench.
"How many times have we seen her read that magazine again?" Lily muttered to Chloé and Sabrina.
"Too many. That's seriously unhealthy. And what disturbs me is that she has different reactions to it every time." Sabrina muttered back.
"Creepy!" Chloé shuddered.
Across the courtyard, Nino is spying on Lily, Chloé and Sabrina.
Just then Adrien appears behind his friend. "Mind telling me why you're spying on Lily and her friends?"
Nino pulls Adrien aside, catching him off guard. "Shhh! Bro I just don't know how to approach her."
"Her? Who's her?" Adrien questioned.
"...Sabrina." Nino sheepishly admitted, "I mean, dude, do I go up to her and crack her a joke? Shoot her a compliment? Invite her to the zoo? Play it serious?"
"Nino, you're way over-thinking this. Invite her to the zoo? You serious?" Adrien questioned.
Nino groans. "Well, they have this really cool new exhibit there."
"Listen," Adrien wrapped an arm around his shoulder. "Just be yourself, man."
"That's easy for you to say, Mr. Front-of-the-cover-Teen-Model-weekly. I'm not that cool." Nino looked down.
"You're cool too, dude, trust me - or you wouldn't be my best bud. Invite her to the zoo. She'll say yes, I promise." Adrien assured.
Nino nods and confidently walks up to Lily, Chloé and Sabrina. But he suddenly panics and runs back to Adrien.
"What if I act like a moronosaurus, or she disses me or thinks I'm lame or-" Nino stuttered, squatting down with his hands on his head.
"Okay, I got your back." Adrien smiles at him.
Nino stood up, looking uncertain, until Adrien held his fist out. Nino smiled as the two fist-bumped.
Outside Françoise Dupont High School
Lily, Chloé and Sabrina are walking out of the Collège, while Adrien and Nino are hiding behind a banister. Adrien signals Nino and they come out of hiding.
"So what should we do later?" Lily asked.
"Well, I do want to go to the zoo." Sabrina replied.
"I can't. I got to do a podcast today. I forgot to do it yesterday because of our homework assignment." Chloé stated.
"We understand. Promise that you'll come next time." Lily requested.
"Promise." Chloé promised.
Suddenly, Lily and Sabrina bumped with Adrien and Nino, making stop in their steps.
"Huh?" Lily and Sabrina asked, confused.
Nino stands very still in front of them, with a wide nervous smile.
"Oh, so sorry." Adrien apologized and nudges Nino, "Right, Nino?"
"Sorry." Nino apologized stiffly.
"It's okay." Lily assured the two boys.
Then Lily noticed the magazine that she was reading earlier. She bends down to pick up the magazine, but Adrien walks over to pick it up for her. They end up bumping into each other by their foreheads.
"Sorry." Lily and Adrien both said in unison. Lily then puts the magazine away.
"Sorry about that. How could we make it up to you? Any ideas... Nino?" Adrien asked, but Nino doesn't answer. "How about we all check out the... zoo today? Word is they've got a new..."
He snaps his fingers in front of Nino to talk.
"Uh, they-they got a new panther." Nino managed to stutter out, smiling goofy.
"Awesome idea, right, Sabrina? You love animals." Lily said.
"Uh, yeah. I... uh...I'm really into zoonimals. I mean... uh... anizools. I mean, zoonimoos. I..." Sabrina stuttered and sighed.
"Cool. Say, after school, four o'clock? Nino, sound good?" Adrien asked.
Nino then nods nervously.
"Cool, four o'clock then." Adrien said.
"Four!" Sabrina beamed.
Adrien nods before he pulls Nino and walks away.
"Four o'clock. Yeah..." Sabrina sighed, lovestruck.
"Uh, Earth to Sabrina?" Lily asked. She waves at hand at Sabrina.
"You do realize the boy you're completely crazy about has just asked you out, right?" Chloé continued.
"Yeah..." Sabrina replied, smiling.
Lily and Chloé glanced at each other and smiled.
"I think she needs a hand." Lily suggested.
"No doubt." Chloé confirmed.
Seine riverbank
Nino and Adrien are sitting on a bench.
"How did you do that, dude?" Nino asked.
"Like I said: "Just be yourself"." Adrien replied.
"Right, suuure." Nino said, "If I could be yourself, myself don't work that way."
Adrien sips his soda can, "You're being ridiculous. Of course you can. And when you're alone with Sabrina at the zoo later on—" He tosses his can in the trash.
"Whoa! What do you mean alone with Sabrina?" Nino asked, cutting him off, "Oh no, dude. You're coming with me. You can't leave me alone by myself. Uh-uh. And besides, Lily's gonna be there and there's no way you'd pass up going on a date with her."
Adrien's cheeks flushed at that, and he stared at Nino with a betrayed expression. He still couldn't believe that he'd willingly admitted to the other boy that he felt that way about Lily. But somehow the words had just slipped out of his mouth when he'd heard him talking about his crush on Sabrina. It had seemed like the most reasonable thing to do, though he was regretting it now. Plus, Nino hadn't even been that surprised; he seemed to think that Adrien had always been pretty obvious about his feelings.
Adrien then sighed, "No prob, Nino. What are friends for?"
Adrien and Nino fist-bump again.
The Zoo
"Man, I'm so nervous." Sabrina admitted as she sat on the bench.
"Don't be, Sabrina. It'll be fine. Just be yourself." Lily assured her through her earpiece speaker.
Lily and Chloé were in the bushes nearby. Both had an earpiece to communicate with Sabrina.
"Are you sure?" Sabrina asked.
"Absolutely." Chloé replied.
"I'm going to do it!" Sabrina declared with newfound determination, "I will speak to him!"
"That's right, girl! Way to be motivated!" Lily cheered.
"Yeah." Sabrina giggled and looked to her right and sees someone, "Ah, there they are!"
Turns out it's Max and Kim.
"False alarm." Sabrina muttered, before she spoke to Max and Kim, "Hey, Kim, Max. What are you doing here?"
"We heard the new panther's here. I wanna see who's get the bigger guns!" Kim explained and started striking a series of muscle poses.
"Do you want to come with us?" Max asked.
"Please say no." Chloé muttered.
"Thanks, but... no thanks. I'm waiting for someone. Uh, you guys go ahead." Sabrina replied.
"'Kay, maybe we'll see you later, then." Kim said and the two walk away.
"Yeah, later!" Sabrina said.
Sabrina looks around and sees someone coming. It's Nino, who smiles nervously, while waving and walking towards her.
"H-Hey Sabrina." Nino greeted nervously.
"Hello Nino." Sabrina greeted back.
Meanwhile, Adrien is hiding behind the bushes in front of a zoo sign. He pops up from behind it.
The blonde taps his earpiece. "Tell her she looks beautiful."
"Y-You look bweatiful.." Nino stammered.
Sabrina raised an eyebrow in confusion. "Huh?"
Plagg pops out of his owner's hair.
"Ah," Adrien shushes Plagg. "This trip is turning out to be a lot more interesting than I thought." Adrien sighs when he continues talking. "Turn up the volume!"
"Uh, I mean, you look beautiful!" Nino exclaimed.
Sabrina's eyes widened a bit and giggled. "Thanks, Nino. You look quite dashing yourself." She smiled.
Nino face heated up.
"Dude... you are so whipped." Adrien snickered in the earpiece.
"Um... these are for you." Nino uttered, handing her bouquet of tulips.
Sabrina's face heated up. "They're beautiful, Nino." She takes the bouquet and smells them. "They even smell wonderful." She chuckled.
Nino felt his heart melt at the sight.
"Wanna start looking around?" Sabrina asked, holding out her hand bashfully.
Nino looks at it awkwardly.
Reluctantly, Nino held her hand. He wasn't sure if it was sweaty, but boy was he nervous.
Otis crouches down as he placed a bowl of meat. "Look what Daddy's brought you. Only the finest for my baby."
The panther growls softly as it began eating.
"Whoa! Look at the size of that piece of meat it's eating!" Kim exclaims.
"Typical diet for a feline species requiring the strength to run at speeds in excess of 60 miles per hour." Max informs.
"60 miles per hour? Is that all? I thought panthers were much of faster than that. I bet that I could beat it in a race." Kim replies in confidence.
"Impossible. No human could compete with my panther." Otis denied.
"Is that so? What place did your cat come in at the Country Athletics Tournament? I came in first place." Kim grins.
Otis stands up. "You can't possibly compare yourself to my panther, kiddo!"
"No need to." Kim slicks back his hair. "I'm obviously the better one."
The panther growls at Kim as it glares intensely.
"Hey, kitty, kitty. How about a little race with me, huh? Last one's a rotten egg!" Kim mocks.
"Let's see." Max whips out his phone as he begins tapping. "With a 6 feet-per-second win behind you and 45 degrees to the north-east... I don't think you'd be a rotten egg. You'd be lunch."
"Your friend's right, kiddo. Now please leave. She needs peace and quiet while she eats. You're stressing her out." Otis advised.
The panther growls at Kim.
"Awww, stressed out, are we, Miss Panthie? You're talking about a wild animal, dude." Kim mocks until the panther roars at him in anger.
"Leave now!" Otis demands. "Or I'll have you kicked out of the zoo immediately!"
"Come on, Max. Let's leave that poor widdle kitty alone with his angwy babysitter!" Kim laughs while he walks away with Max following him from behind.
Otis and his panther growls in anger, they watched as the kids walks away.
Hawk Moth's Lair
At the mysterious place, the window opens to reveal Hawk Moth.
"Unleashing the animal in each of us. I like that idea." Hawk Moth as he held his hand up for the butterfly to land then cover it with his other hand, as the dark energy consumes turning the butterfly into an Akuma. He opens his hand, and the butterfly flew off it, "Go ahead, my little Akuma, fly off and take control of that zookeeper!"
The Akuma flew out the window and flies through the city to its victim.
The Zoo: Panther Cage
Otis is leaning on the railing, watching inside of his panther's cage. Sadness conveying his face. Unknown to him, an Akuma flies towards him and possessed his bracelet.
The man looks up with a pink butterfly outline on his face.
"Animan, I am Hawk Moth. I offer you the power to seek revenge, for a small price."
"Yes, Hawkmoth." Otis grins as he transforms into Animan.
The panther stands up on all fours as it growls at Animan.
Meanwhile, Max is watching Kim mocking a gorilla.
"Hey, kiddo." Animan calls out to Kim and Max who looks in his direction. "Still up for a little race? Go ahead, I'll give you a head start."
Animan roars loudly, making Kim and Max run away from him. The panther walks up beside him while growling in anger as it was ready to charge at Kim.
"He's mine." Animan declares as it runs off.
Lily and Chloé were now watching the parrots.
"Wow, there so cute!" Lily gushed.
Chloé chuckled, "Do you think Sabrina and Nino are doing okay?" She asked.
"I believe so. I have a good feeling that they'll be a couple by the end of the day." Lily replied, smiling.
"Then I believe you." Chloé smiled.
Then they noticed Kim and Max running.
"Run!" Max yells as he and Kim ran past the girls.
"Huh? What's up with them?" Chloé raised an eyebrow.
The iconic duo then noticed a stampede of animals. The girls' eyes widened with shock.
"Go, go, go!" Lily urged Chloé to run away. "I'll warn some of the people!"
"O-Okay but be careful!" Chloé yells as she runs away.
Lily quickly bolted towards a fence and jumped over it, hiding behind a patch of bushes while the stampede of animals rushed past her. She peeked out to see if the coast was clear and saw it was empty. She lets Tikki out of her purse. "Time to transform. Tikki, spots on!"
Kim runs away from Animan, but he ran past him and was now in front of him.
"You lost, kiddo. What do you think of panthers now?" Animan asked as he slowly crept up to Kim while he backed away.
"That... panthers are the best?" Kim answered hesitantly.
Just then Lady Scarlet lands in front of Kim. "And what do you think about ladybugs?"
Cat Noir landed beside his partner. "And another black cat?"
"I think I'm higher on the food chain." Animan's face was outlined with a purple butterfly.
"Animan, take their jewels! Their Miraculouses! Bring them to me!" Hawk Moth demanded.
"If you wanna live a long life, get out of here now." Lady Scarlet ordered to Kim.
Kim nods and runs away from the area.
Animan attempts to chase after Kim, but Lady Scarlet throws her yo-yo at his direction and incapacitates him.
"Cat Noir, his bracelet. The Akuma must be inside the charm." Lady Scarlet told him.
"You hold him, I'll grab the bracelet." Cat Noir said. Once looking ahead, he froze in place when seeing several animals behind Animan.
"Attack!" Animan commands.
The animals begin charging at them.
Cat Noir whimpered as he backed away before sprinting away.
Lady Scarlet lets go of her yo-yo, leaving Animan tied up in it before she followed after her partner.
The animals chased after the duo.
"We need to put them all back in their cages!" Cat Noir says.
"Oh, that's a great idea, and I'm positive they won't put up a fight!" Lady Scarlet replied sarcastically.
The heroes see Sabrina and Nino running away from the gorilla and they jumped over the animal before continuing to run away.
"I'll be right back. I'm gonna save those two." Lady Scarlet informed and went to the direction where Nino and Sabrina ran off.
"Hey!" Nino yelled as he was grabbed from behind.
"Hey!" Sabrina yelled as she was grabbed from behind as well.
Lady Scarlet led the pair by their hands.
"What the-?" Nino said in confusion when he and Sabrina were pushed inside the empty gorilla habitat by the bug heroine.
"Stay here. You'll be away from dangers harm." Lady Scarlet closes the cage and leaves.
Nino looks at Sabrina, "Well this isn't what I planned for our hangout session to be." He sighed and plopped down on the ground.
"Hey, don't beat yourself up, Nino." Sabrina sits beside him and puts a hand on his shoulder. "We can always hangout after this whole fiasco is over." She smiled.
Nino gives her a soft smile. "Yeah..."
Cat Noir is seen still running away from the animals. He swiftly goes up in a tree.
Just then Lady Scarlet lands on a roof beside the tree. "There's too many of them! We can't capture them all."
"Well, what are we gonna do then?" Cat Noir asked before he jumped on the roof to join his bug partner.
"Back to plan A. If we destroy his bracelet, then I can capture the Akuma. And then everything will go back to normal." Lady Scarlet said.
"Sounds like a good idea." Cat Noir praised before he and Lady Scarlet jumped away.
The animals unfortunately escape from the zoo.
Meanwhile, Lady Scarlet and Cat Noir had returned to where they left Animan, only to find no sign of him. The only thing that was left on the ground was Lady Scarlet's yo-yo.
"That's impossible! It's unbreakable!" Lady Scarlet's brows furrowed.
"That's weird." Cat Noir picked up the yo-yo and gave it back to his partner, "How'd he get free?"
"Unless..." Lady Scarlet trailed.
"Unless what?" Cat Noir asked, curious.
"Unless he can shapeshift." Lady Scarlet replied.
"Shapeshift? Are you sure?" Cat Noir questioned.
"I think it would make sense since all of the animals would follow his command. It's not a stretch that he might be able to change into one of them." Lady Scarlet explained.
"You got a point. Now we better find Kim- I mean, that boy, before he does." Cat Noir said.
Lady Scarlet extends her yo-yo and swings away with her partner following her.
The duo lands on a rooftop and scanned the area.
"Over there!" Cat Noir points at the direction.
Lady Scarlet looked in the direction and notices Kim backing away from Animan who was approaching him on a bridge.
"Oh boy..." The bug heroine frowned.
"It's down to just two of us, Kiddo." Animan creeps up Kim who backs away in fear. The said boy trips and fall backwards on the ground. "And then there was one." He lunges at him, but Lady Scarlet wraps her yo-yo around his ankle, making him fall onto the ground.
"You're not getting away this time!" Lady Scarlet declares as she begins to pull the oversized cat towards her, while Cat goes to stand protectively in front of Kim.
"You'll never get me!" Animan retorted before purple and black smog covered Animan's body as he transforms into an eagle.
Lady Scarlet was quick to react and wrap her yoyo back around the bird and bring him crashing to the ground. Wasting no time, Cat dove forward and wrestle the bracelet off of the bird.
"Cataclysm!" He shouts and destroys the bracelet easily, releasing the Akuma.
"Oh no you don't you filthy Akuma!" Lady Scarlet opens her yo-yo and catches the Akuma. "Gotcha!" She releases the butterfly from her yo-yo. "So long, little butterfly."
"Lucky Charm!" Lady Scarlet called out. She receives a car jack.
"That's certainly odd." Cat Noir commented.
"No kidding," Lady Scarlet agreed and throws the car jack into the air, "Miraculous Scarlet!"
The magical ladybugs restore everything back to normal and Animan reverts back into Otis.
"Pound it!" The Miraculous duo fist-bumped.
Then Lady Scarlet opens her yo-yo again and puts her hand inside. Soon enough she brought out an object that looks like a ladybug-themed amulet colored black with purple spots and a light purple spot with a moderate amethyst dot in the middle spot.
At that moment, Cat Noir's Miraculous beeps. "Whoops! Better take my whiskers and run!"
"See you next time, kitty cat!" Lady Scarlet waved before approaching a confused Otis.
"What happened to me?" The man asked.
"Everything's okay. But let me bring you back to the zoo so you can check on your animals." Lady Scarlet smiled, placing a comforting hand on his shoulder. Then hands him the magical charm, "Here, it's for protection against future Akumas."
"Thank you, Lady Scarlet." Otis thanked her as he gently takes the charm.
Hawk Moth's Lair
Hawk Moth groans. "You ruined everything, Lady Scarlet. This is not how it was supposed to end! But I promise you, one day it will be me at the top of the food chain! And you'll be nothing!"
His window closes.
Rossi Residence - Lily's Room
Lady Scarlet uses her yo-yo to swing herself on top of the balcony.
"Tikki, spots off." She whispered. She transforms into her alter ego, Lily.
The brunette yawned tiredly as she entered her room, collapsing on top of her bed with a sigh.
"Hero work is something else." Tikki groans as she and Trixx flew towards a bowl of cookies that was on Lily's bedside table.
"No kidding." Trixx agreed.
The two Kwamis each took a cookie.
"We saw the news." Attã spoke up.
"I never expected that Paris almost became a zoo." Aráa commented.
"Really unexpected, huh?" Lily joked.
"Indeed." Higgia agreed.
At that moment, Lily's phone began to ring. She checked it to see it was Sabrina and quickly answered it.
"Sabrina! I'm so sorry I didn't call earlier! Are you and Nino okay?!" Lily panicked.
"Don't worry, we're fine." Sabrina assured her.
Lily let out a sigh of relief, "Thank goodness," She smiled, "So, are you and Nino together?"
There was a pause on Sabrina's end.
"...yes. We are." Sabrina confessed.
Lily squealed happily, "Finally!"
Sabrina and Nino chuckled.
"Hey, did you tell Chloé?" Lily asked.
"Yeah. She had the same reaction as you did. Nino also called Adrien, and the guy was beyond happy for us." Sabrina replied.
"Hey, you deserve to be happy, Sabrina. I knew that Nino would be the one to make you happy. By the way, Nino, you better take good care of my friend. If you don't, I'll make sure you hit an early grave." Lily stated.
"Understood, dudette." Nino promised.
Lily and Sabrina chuckled.
"Well, I better go and tell Chloé that I'm okay." Lily said.
"Okay, see you tomorrow." Sabrina said.
"See you then. Bye!" Lily smiled.
"Bye!" Sabrina hung up.
Lily had called Chloé and told that she was okay and heard the good news. She was very happy that Sabrina and Nino got together. The two girls talked until Lily was being called for dinner. They promised that they'll meet up tomorrow.
"Today was quite exciting huh?" Beatt joked.
"You have no idea." Lily retorted.
"Did you know that Animan would appear today?" Duxx asked.
"Yeah, but I got distracted with Sabrina's romance." Lily replied.
"Romance seems to be quite the distraction." Ayyri teased.
Lily sighed in defeat, "Yeah, it is."
Even though, she and Cat Noir faced an interesting villain. She was glad that they were able to quickly defeat him. But she was also happy that Nino and Sabrina got together. To her point of view, the two deserved each other. She had a good feeling that they'll have a great future together.
