"Go Adrien, go!" Lily cheered her crush on.
Adrien and Max are playing Ultimate Mecha Strike III while the other students and Miss Bustier along with Mr. Damocles spectate as Alya recorded.
Meanwhile, Marinette enters to see the commotion.
"Come on, Max." Kim urged.
Marinette walks up to Alya and sees her recording. "What's going on, Alya?"
"Try-outs for the Paris Ultimate Mecha Strike lll Tournament! This school sends the two students with the highest scores!" Rose cheerfully explained to the blunette.
"Actually," Kim butt in, putting his arm on Marinette's shoulder. "The tryouts offer a partner to team up with Max in the Tournament."
"Why Max?" Marinette questioned.
"Cause he's unbeatable! He's a total rocksord! He's got the highest APM over anyone!" Kim replied.
"APM?" Marinette asked.
"Actions per minute? This tournament is his whole life! He's been grinding all year to level up." Kim reveals.
Adrien's robot, NAD03, uses his special attack on Max's robot, MX-01. MX-01 is crushed and NAD03 wins.
"Adrien is now in the lead." Miss Bustier informs.
"What happened, Max?" Kim asked as everyone cheered.
Max looks disappointed for a moment. He then sucks it up. "Awesome job. We're gonna make a killer combo." He high-fives Adrien.
The rest of the class cheers for both of them.
"You were so awesome Adrien." Lily praised the blonde.
"Thanks, Lily." Adrien winks at her, causing her to blush.
"So let me get this straight. If someone manages to beat Max's score, they'll team up with Adrien at the tournament?" Marinette asked.
"No one can beat Max. Or rather Max and Adrien. It's a slam dunk. They're our school's dream team!" Kim says.
Alya grabs Marinette by her hand and drags her behind a bookshelf.
"I see where you're going with this, Little lady." Alya points a finger at her.
"Just imagine, teaming with Adrien!" Marinette cooed.
"Are you out of your mind, girl? This is about stepping up and representing! Not snuggling up and snogging! This is serious business!" Alya points out with a stern expression.
"Seriously Alya, you think I'd actually go through with that?" Marinette smirked.
With that, she bolted from behind the bookshelf, leaving Alya to sigh in disbelief.
"Well, I think we have our two champions lined up for the Paris tournament." Mr. Damocles declared.
"Wait!" Marinette yelled, catching everyone off guard. "Uh, is it too late... to try out?"
"Well, the library is closing in five minutes, but..." Mr. Damocles trailed off.
"Actually, I want to give my spot to Lily." Adrien interrupted.
"Huh?!" Everyone exclaimed.
"Lily is a really great player. She's actually beat me at this game at least three times." Adrien admitted.
"Three times?" Max asked, shocked.
"Yeah. My cousin, Mateo Gonzalez, taught me everything about gaming. He's the reason I got so good." Lily replied.
"Mateo Gonzalez? The Mateo Gonzalez? Champion of the Spain Ultimate Mecha Strike Tournaments?" Max questioned, surprised.
"Who's he?" Marinette was confused.
"Marinette, Mateo Gonzalez is known to be the Great Champion of the Spain Ultimate Mecha Strike 1, 2 and 3 Tournament. He won the championship in his home country for three years at his high school!" Max answered, smiling.
"Wow." Marinette muttered, surprised.
"It would be honor if you were my partner, Lily." Max said.
"You won't mind?" Lily asked, surprised.
"As long as Adrien doesn't." Max assured her.
Lily and Max turned to Adrien who smiled.
"It's okay. I don't mind at all." Adrien assured the two.
"Well, I guess I can show you how good I am. Max, can I borrow your joypad?" Lily requested.
"Sure." Max handed the joypad to Lily.
Adrien and Lily both sat down on the cushions.
"Yeah, this'll be fun." Kim said.
Alya began recording the scene.
"Don't underestimate, Lily. She's quite the expert on this game." Chloé bragged.
"Yeah." Sabrina added.
Meanwhile, Lily chooses LB-03, the ladybug robot, while Adrien chooses MX-01.
"Come on, Adrien, you can do it!" Kim encouraged.
"Go Lily!" Chloé and Sabrina cheered.
Adrien and Lily started playing; battling each other fiercely. Everyone gasped as they noticed the designer beating Adrien who seems to be struggling.
"And now, quarter circle plus heavy kick, and Flying Hyper Storm! Triple hit combo! Lily style!" The brunette grins as her robot defeated Adrien's. "Booyah!"
Lily's robot grew as it leveled up. This leads her to jump up in joy and does her happy dance.
"Wha! I can't believe it! She... she beat him?" Kim was in shock.
"Beat him? She pulverized him!" Alya corrected.
"That was amazing, Lily!" Max beamed.
Lily handed him back his joypad, "Don't mention it. I had a lot of fun." She smiled.
"I think you'll have even more fun if you compete in the tournament." Adrien held out his joypad to her.
Lily turned to Adrien with surprise, "Are you really sure, Adrien?" She asked.
"Don't worry, I know that with you and Max as a team, you'll win the tournament." Adrien smiled.
Lily smiled back and gently took the joypad from Adrien, "Thank you, Adrien."
"So, Lily Rossi and Max Kanté will represent Françoise Dupont High School at the Paris Ultimate Mecha Strike lll Tournament. Good luck to both of you." Mr. Damocles said.
Max and Lily smiled at this.
Marinette glared at Lily. She wanted to be in the tournament with Adrien. But now Lily was partnered with Max. Well, she guessed that was a good thing. However, Lily got to hold Adrien's joypad.
Rossi Residence - Living Room
"Oh, so you're both now in the tournament?" May asked.
"Yeah. I'm super excited about it." Lily replied.
"I hope you don't mind us training for a little bit." Max prayed.
"Not at all. Just make sure to lower the volume while playing." John assured.
"Let's us know when you need a break, I'll be happy to make you guys something." May offered.
"Thanks, mom." Lily thanked her.
"Thank you, Mr. and Mrs. Rossi." Max thanked the couple.
"You're welcome." May and John smiled.
Lily and Max were training for almost two hours now. Soon enough, May called out for a break and gave them Banana Sushi rolls to snack on.
"These are awesome, Mrs. Rossi." Max munched on a banana sushi.
"Thank you, Max. I want to make sure that you both are in your best state before you start the tournament." May said.
"Thanks, mom." Lily thanked her.
"You're welcome." May smiled.
"How about one more hour of training before the tournament?" Max suggested.
Lily nodded, "Sure."
"I'll give you two a ride there." John offered.
"Thanks, dad." Lily thanked him.
"Don't mention. Just make sure to win the tournament." John requested.
"I have a good feeling we will." Lily grinned.
"Me too." Max agreed.
The Parc des Princes
The gaming tournament is about to start.
"So remember, the High Score to beat is 24500, so gamers, hit those consoles. Game on!" The announcer says.
"Ready to win, Max?" Lily smiled.
"And now, representing Françoise Dupont High School..." The Announcer began.
Max nodded, "Yeah."
"Good luck you two." Adrien said.
Lily smiled and kissed Adrien's cheek. "Thank you, Adrien." She said with pink cheeks.
Then she and Max headed towards the gates.
Adrien blushes and touches his cheek while Marinette fumes with anger.
Max and Lily stood at the entrance gate while their classmates cheered them on.
Max grins at the brunette. "Let's show 'em who's gold."
Lily grinned, "Heck ya'!"
The two then entered the gates to the tournament as the others students cheered them on.
