檐雨滴階，碎響沉沉，敲破巷陌深處的岑寂。

牆角陰濕處，少年蜷身蹲坐，凝眸注視地上徐行的玄甲蟲。那蟲背甲紋理詭譎，雨絲中泛著幽渺的光——異於尋常同類，鞘翅之上竟隱約浮現一隻闔目的圖案，恍若天成。

蘇臨探手，蟲攀指尖，一股冰涼直透骨髓，霎時神清。

三日之前，他猶是塵寰中碌碌奔波的“996”社畜，加班猝死，一縷幽魂飄蕩，再醒來時，已成此界所謂的“蘇家棄子”。原身本是臨淵城蘇家嫡脈，卻因天生經脈閉塞，無法修煉，被家族打發至這荒僻老宅，任其自生自滅。

這三日間，他翻遍原身遺留的殘篇斷簡，從箱底覓得一部破損的《蘇家心法》，半冊手鈔的《臨淵志異》。書中記載此界軼聞——據說九天之上，有仙人御劍飛翔；據說太古時代，萬族爭鋒，神魔喋血；據說極西之地，有詭祕教徒召喚不可名狀的存在。

彼時讀來，不過視作志怪奇談，一笑置之。

直至此刻，指尖那隻甲蟲背上，那闔著的眼睛，驀然睜開！

一道幽光，直貫眉心！

蘇臨渾身劇震，無數畫面在識海中炸裂——屍山血海的太古戰場，遮天蔽日的巨靈神魔，虛空中狂舞的無數觸手，冰雪絕巔之上貫通天地的神木，每一片葉上都承載著一方世界……

異象消散後，掌中憑空多了一枚指甲大小的玄黑令牌，上刻兩個古篆：詭祕。
