. . . THE MOONLIGHT streets were full of straying bodies, yet a gleam of light settled on the blond male. His strict stance and hardened eyes focused on the bustling lady who happened to be the one to release the lamp into his hold.
His mind began to wander to his rather confusing transaction between him and the woman residing in the lamp. Her lack of cowardice toward him reached far underneath his skin.
However, a single question remained potent.
Who, rather, what is that woman?
The term wish-giver echoed in his brain as he thirsted for an answer. As the woman childishly refused to give him an answer to her identity, he thought to ask the dark-skinned woman who dropped it into his possession.
His eyes transformed into ones belonging to a predator as he watched the clueless witch wander through her shop. The woman fixated on the can she held with delicacy as she drenched her plants. The door that seemed closed to peering strangers was open for the lucky hybrid as he leaped to attack.
A gust of wind passed through her shop as she stood straight, as her nerves stood tall. The cautious witch set the miniature can down as she readied herself sensing his presence.
"Over here, love." The blond held a cocky smirk as he sped over to her reaching for her throat. The two wrestled about as she attempted to pry the agitated male away from her body. Luckily the witch managed to fling the rampant hybrid against the brick wall. Her calloused hand massaged her neck as she watched him stand, readying himself to pounce.
"Klaus! What is this about!?" She begged for an answer. "You attack me in the middle of the night and for what?"
"Celeste, I want answers." He vaguely answered as he dangerously sauntered closer.
"You're going to have to give me more than that," Celeste snarled whilst she crossed her arms tightly.
"What did you give me?" Klaus gave a straight answer lowering his threatening gaze.
The witch's face twitched as her lips evilly curled up. "Ah, you mean the lamp. I thought you would've liked it, what's the problem?"
"You must think of me as a fool, witch." Klaus's straightened features gave a malicious demeanor. He wasn't here for games, he's here for answers. "I opened your little gift and found a bizarre woman waiting for me. Who is she?"
"Ah, you mean the girl," the witch quipped playfully. "Never mind her, she's just like the others—old and bitter."
"You're being evasive, witch. I asked what you gave me and who's inside it," his teeth gritted as his face remained pinched.
As she finally gave up her facade, Celeste raised her hands in the still air, "Fine." She twirled around taking a seat on the tall wooden structure, "That girl is the last of the Aurelia Coven."
"So she's a witch?" Klaus's chestnut brows furrowed.
"Far from it, at least now she isn't," the woman let out an ominous chuckle before she continued her shpeal. "She's one of the many things witches have created, a wish-giver. I'm sure you've heard of a genie and the three witches, yes? Well, that was the blueprint to create her kind. Yet in the real world, it gets a little more complicated. When we created them, we instilled three things. A set of ten wishes, confinement to a lamp, and ownership."
"Well spill it, witch, before I spill your guts," a phony smile appeared and dropped within a second as Klaus ushered her to keep talking.
The witch chose to ignore the threat and cleared her throat, "No need for the hostility Klaus. Now, as I was saying, the girl is bound to the lamp, there's nowhere she can go without being sucked right back into it. I mean, unless someone releases her. But she knows not to hold her breath. But whoever picks up the lamp has ten wishes for the wish-giver to grant. But be warned, the owner of the lamp simply means who was the last to have it in their possession. Meaning, your chance to grant all ten could be gone just like that."
"I remember you mentioning my curse, could she lift it?" Klaus's heart fluttered at the opportunity to finally be free from the rusty chains of his curse.
"Of course, she can't," the witch deadpanned.
"So what was the point of giving me the stupid lamp?" Klaus's teeth ground against one another at the deception.
"Not so fast, I gave it to you for a reason. Now, of course, she has her limits, but that doesn't mean she can't help. And I'm prepared to help for a cost, I want to make a deal." Celeste's eyes contained a sly glint as she hoped he would take the bait.
"A deal, hmm? Tell me and I shall consider it," Klaus retorted smugly.
"Like I said, whoever possesses the lamp controls her. But what if I ensured that, regardless of what happens to her, she stays yours until all your wishes are used up?"
"I would say keep talking," Klaus muttered as he crossed his arms with a grin.
"Reading back to my grimoire, I came across an old spell used to create a blood connection. But in your case, I can make it so that you both are connected by blood or bound by a singular object until the ten wishes are up."
"And what do you require," Klaus's eyes roamed her figure looking for any sign that he may need to slay her where she stood.
"All I require is a bit of your blood, for my own use of course," she widely smiled whilst her eyes remained still.
Klaus remained still letting the nightly ambiance fill the moment as he began to think about his final decision. A gateway to his wildest dreams had been set in his path, he'd be a fool not to take the witch's helping hand. "I accept your terms, witch."
"Wonderful, but a word of caution," Celeste's voice grew low as her eyes eerily locked with his. "She is only to be thought of as a means to getting what you wish for, keep it simple. Yours to use and discard, nothing more."
