During the three-day long weekend, my friends and I joined a two-day, one-night trip to a small town.
We were all very excited about this trip. Everything went smoothly during the day, and the scenery was unique and breathtaking.
At dinner, we enjoyed the town’s famous local cuisine at a restaurant. Afterward, we returned to the hotel, where I shared a room with my friends.
I went to shower and brush my teeth, while my friends looked through photos and shared their experiences on social media.
“Beep, beep—”
The clock chimed at 9 p.m. We left our rooms and gathered again in the hotel lobby, where the tour guide was waiting for us.
“Thank you, everyone. Now we’re taking you to the most famous cinema in this town—a theater with a 360-degree screen and 4D effects!”
When we arrived, we looked around—it was really cool! The theater even offered free snacks and drinks!
Even though I had just brushed my teeth, I still wanted some snacks, so I took two of my favorites. Just as we were about to enter the cinema, the tour guide suddenly told us there would be a once-a-year special fireworks show in the South Garden. Since the movie hadn’t started yet, we should go check out the fireworks first.
As soon as he finished speaking, he left the cinema and quickly disappeared. The rest of the group began heading out as well.
I initially followed my friends, but they walked too fast, and I soon lost them in the crowd.

Oh no—I had no idea where the South Garden was! I thought about following the crowd, but it was hard to tell if they were heading there.
While I was still hesitating about what to do next, a child tugged at my clothes and looked up at me.
“Do you…do you know where the South Garden is?”
I looked down and realized he was one of the children from a family in our tour group. I shook my head. Then, he told me he actually knew where it was.
I wondered—if he knew, why ask me?
He explained that he had gotten separated from his parents, but he knew they were heading to the South Garden.
“If you gave me some snacks, I would take you there.” He said.
I could tell he just wanted an excuse to get snacks, and I secretly called him a “little glutton,” but I still gave him two candies. Then he tugged at my clothes and led me toward the garden.
When we arrived, the place was crowded.
The child said, “Lift me up a bit—I can’t see my parents.”
I lifted him onto my shoulders.
Suddenly—boom!
The fireworks show had begun. The sky lit up with bursts of colors and patterns.
Just then, I heard someone loudly calling the child’s name. He heard it too and waved excitedly, shouting, “Mom! Dad!”
His parents quickly ran over and thanked me.
As I looked around, my friends came up behind me and tapped me on the shoulder.
“So this is where you are! We thought you were still at the cinema!”
I shook my head. “I got separated in the crowd.”
After the fireworks ended, my friends said, “Let’s go back to the cinema!”
I shook my head again and replied, “I’m going back to rest. You two go ahead—have fun!”
