I hopped off the throne and splashed through the shallow water. “What are you doing?” I asked, in spite of curiosity.
“I found this little fella chilling away from the flock. Guess what! She eats koi fish!” Haylynn explained.
“What? You’re kidding. Flamingos eat shrimp, and that is a fact,” I replied sassily.
“No, look. Gabbi, fish!” Haylynn said gleefully.
Gabbi stuck her head into the water and pulled out a large, wiggly orange and white koi fish. “No way! But, why?” I asked.
“I tried giving her shrimp, but she doesn’t like it,” Haylynn explained. Haylynn took a breath, and dived underwater. She came back up with a shrimp in her hand. She offered it the Gabbi, but Gabbi turned her beak up to it. I was amazed. That’s the first time I’ve ever heard of a flamingo eating koi fish! I patted Gabbi on her head. I saw a pond of flamingo chicks. Haylynn and I carried Gabbi over to the baby pond. The other flamingo chicks snapped at her. “Poor thing,” I mumbled.
“Scottlynn- its 2am! We need to get back to the hotel, as soon as we can! Tell Alvin, and Bubbers or whatever you called the flamingos good night! Move!” Haylynn shouted, quickly. I really need to invest my savings into a stopwatch. I told all the flamingos I had to go, and Haylynn and I swam back to the hotel.91Please respect copyright.PENANAdpcMqJlDS4
