I was just sitting in a small cafe in an unknown town. There sat a coffee next to me and my laptop in front of me. Occasionally I would take a break and look around. Nothing interesting ever happened but it was still nice. One of the many times I looked around I locked eyes with a young woman. Her eyes were an entrancing green completed with dark brown hair. She looked fairly young but something about her eyes set me off.
They were the eyes of someone going through pain. Her eyes were sad yet her face showed joy. I could tell her life had not been a happy one yet I couldn't figure out what had happened there was too much to unfold. She noticed me staring at her since she had been staring back I wonder if she could see my pain too, her gaze softened and I could tell she too could see my pain, my bloodshed, all the suffering I went through.
Unnerved I saved what I was writing, closed my laptop, and grabbed my coffee. On the way out I heard her say something but I'm unsure what since I kept walking. I never saw that pained woman again and I often wonder where she is.
The other day I noticed she looked oddly like me.
