*¹："in the basement"直翻是在地下室，也能衍伸比喻成“住在地下室的怪咖”的意思。

*²：這句是致敬2Pac的一首歌“Fuck the World”

*³：Kendrick Lamar認為自己是最偉大的饒舌歌手，自比NBA傳奇球員麥可喬丹一樣偉大，也有個word play，麥可（Mike）音同麥克風（Mic）。

*⁴：enemy you should know來自《孫子兵法》的一句話：「知己知彼，百戰不殆。」

*⁵：暗示當年（2017）川普上位，與Kendrick童年時期執政的總統雷根做連結，80年代至90年代的毒品犯罪飆升，讓許多美國小鎮籠罩在毒品（尤其快克、冰毒）的陰影之下。

　　從這首開始，主角就直接向“我們觀眾”對話，指出我們的問題、饒舌產業的問題（哪怕他占主導地位）、國家與社會的問題，甚至在後段語氣變得更為激烈、發怒。他想要挺身對抗，卻發現這些問題根深蒂固、難以解決，牽扯的人事物太多，而且……那些事物視主角為救星，一直希望主角能為他們禱告。

　　人們會對某事祈禱，就是因為他們關心、在乎某事，主角認為沒人為他祈禱，即是沒有人關心他，上一首ELEMENT.說到“他媽並不在乎”，但在這裡發現他其實超級在乎。主角感覺疏離，因為被產業、聲名、物慾等因素而遭到孤立，困在思緒內、得不到救援。
