I've been reading over my past entries, and one question comes to my mind: Why does any of this even matter?
The answer? It only matters because we make it matter. Most any of the issues people argue over today, they only argue over it because they think it's a big deal, which in turn actually makes it a big deal. But why do we make it like that? Why can't we just accept that other people's lives are not our own, and just let them live their lives? I'm personally against gay marriage, but I'm not gay. I'm a heteroromantic-asexual, and someone else being gay doesn't affect my life, so why is it so hard for most people to say, "What you're doing doesn't affect me, you do what you do and as long as I'm not personally affected it doesn't really matter on my radar?" That's what I usually wind up saying when people talk politics, and most people laugh. Now why is that? Because it's so inconceivable that I can not care about a hot issue if it doesn't immediately involve me, because people just think that those issues involve everyone. No. Listen, you fighting for a cause you think is right? Noble. But if you force me to join your side when I don't really have a strong opinion and don't really care? Less noble. We're all people, if we could just treat others like it then maybe, just maybe, these issues could go away.368Please respect copyright.PENANA851cBfKZ05
That said, I'm willing to talk about my sexuality and other aspects of my life on here, hence why I started this blog, and if you're genuinely curious about what goes on in my life and aren't trying to start up an argument, I'm more than happy to answer you questions. I just felt like I should say the "just treat people like people" thing before I got too far into this, make my stance on that clear.
