Depression

A sigh,

The whispers of lips you may never kiss,

A smile,

But a reflection of the ghost you once wore

-

Deeply unsettling,

Carved hollow inside

A strong urge to sob,

But no violent tears will fall

-

A battered soul

Divided into shattered pieces

Shards they use

To attack your open wounds

-

Dull skies

And no chirping birds

Heh.

No chirping people either

-

It's cold

Possibly mirroring your heart

The one that was once filled to the brim

With innocence and hope

-

Gone now, though

A shell sits tiredly

On those shabby bedsheets

Wishing for a feeling

-

Just one

-

A zombie, maybe

But what if that name suits you?

How about skeleton?

After all, you stopped eating ages ago

-

Heh.

Ironic that this is romanticized

When the last thing on your mind is love

Actually, never mind

-

You itch to cure the hole in your stomach

The gaping pit in your heart

The shallow soul that floats in you body

The darkness clouding your mind

-

Wind blows

You exhale

Feeling as if you might just fall over

Turned to dust

-

Wrought

Twisted

Calm,

Yet so wicked

-

You wish to sleep

Because maybe tomorrow will be different

But you lay awake all night

Because what if it's worse?

-

Just, ah, lovely.

-

Crooked grin

So fake

Such a hideous disguise

Seems to work though

-

Why fix something broken?

Right,

To use it again.

Such a bad case on your behalf

-

Blackness

It's terrifying

Mainly because

It already haunts your insides

-

Gutted;

Maybe

You can learn to smile,

For real

-

Ah,

Relapse

What a nice way

To perish

-

Useless,

You are,

But

Maybe that's not

-

Such a bad thing?

-

Interests faded

Like an old

Photograph

Dipped in icy waters

-

Perhaps

You are but a ruined

Picture of a lake

Destroyed by your own being

-

Funny,

Isn't it?

Well,

Not to me.

-

Music

Ah

Should soothe your soul

But lately it fails

-

Fails like you fail

To control yourself

To keep your mouth shut

To smile

-

What good is living

When you just

Force yourself

To survive

-

Eat!

How about no?

-

In my small way

I believe

That everyone has

A Twi

-

Everyone has

Their shadow

Of a doubt

It's only

Human

-

Right?!

Hah!

Human is lame

Everything is lame

-

You're shaking

I think.

What if I'm just

Imagining it?

-

Are you consumed by

Overwhelming fullness

Or maybe just

Gaping emptiness?

-

Ah,

A lot to ponder,

I know.

Pathetic

-

Shame,

But how?

Shame

For the things

You have not done?

-

Guilt,

Possibly,

Eating you away

Like termites in a log

-

Wow

Look

I can use a simile

A sucky one, if even

-

Heh.

It's not even worth

Moping over.

How hopeless is this?

-

Enough to be done

By now,

Surely.

If only

It were so
