They may say

Sticks and stones 

May break my bones

But words will never hurt me.

They may think

That physical abuse is worse 

Than its verbal counterpart 

Though I do not believe so,

As broken bones may heal

And so will a broken heart mend

But a broken spirit never really tends to,

Does it?
