I have read that story and honestly it was sad. The other guy Rufus like died at the end too I mean the name does say They both die at the end haha but I like the new outcome

You can basically call it a fanfiction to my favorite book of all time, called "They Both Die At The End" by Adam Silvera. I absolutely recommend it. But, anyway, the story revolves around how a specific company, known as Death Cast, can call people on the day they will die to let them know that they will die. Mateo and Rufus both get these calls, so they join an app called "Last Friend" which can connect people to have a friend on their death day. Mateo and Rufus meet each other and have the day and night of their lives with each other.
