奧爾斯多的積弱不關陰盛陽衰的事啊，奧莉嘉自己都説了，他們本來就是個地少人少的小國，小國被大國吞併是歷史的必然性，自古皆然。就算在冷兵器的時代，男女的重要性也是均等的，縱使在體格及知識水平上男士比女士佔了絕對的優勢，但在任何一種性別的缺席下人類也會無可避免的邁向漸漸滅絕的境地。所以我們很難光從性別失衡這一點便斷定它是使奧爾斯多國長年處於外交和軍事劣勢的主因，除非故事的世界觀設定是以純武力為基礎，凌駕於法律、貿易、物質資源等其他條件之上，就像原始部落的世界那般，這才能另作別論。

也不一定 
不丹、尼泊爾也不算是軍事強國
但是這些國家也沒有被別國完全統治 最多是割地而已
而風之歌的故事的確是參考了中古世紀與中世紀的背景 所以武力是定義國力的基礎
而筆者想帶出的一點就是長久以來的觀念是男人比女人強壯 令很多人根深蒂固地認為男人少就會令國力變弱
但是真的打起來的話女人不一定會輸 歷史上也有很多能夠戰勝男人的女戰士
