The monster mentioned below is an old European monster that I swear I didn't make up.
Panther
They had been flirting back and forth for weeks now.
Oh, Daniel knew he had a serious girlfriend, he even had a ring picked out for when he eventually popped question. He had never even met the woman in question as it was. They lived across the street from one another, on the same level, and their windows faced one another. He had waved at her one day, she had waved back, and tossed her hair at him with a seductive smile on her face.
He had no idea what her name was, or what she did. For all he knew she was a nurse, or a writer. She wasn't a mother though, he had never seen any sign of kids through her window. She seemed to be of very European stock, straight black hair and a classically French nose and chin, and bright emerald green eyes. And her breasts were amazing.
It had started innocently enough. A nod here, a wave there, a smile. Then she started modeling for him, showing off what had to be designer dresses that flattered her every curve. Flashing him an expanse of pale thigh as she walked to the bedroom from the shower, water dripping down her skin, towel clinging wetly, leaving nothing to the imagination. Her eyes were gem bright, even from across the road that separated their apartment buildings, and every move that she made was a sensual torture.
Watching her had become a twisted hobby. She moved like a panther, all muscle and grace, and dark beauty that could burn as easily as it could reward, and she knew it. He knew that she knew, in every twist of the head, every flash of pale skin, every coy smile.
That piece of cardstock that night was a beacon in the dark. Apartment 626, an invitation for the night, a flowing black dress and a dark smile that reached deep inside and grabbed something primal at his core. He shouldn't, he really shouldn't, but the temptation was too great. He was only human in the end. Nodding to her from across the street, he quickly changed into dark slacks and a blue dress shirt before grabbing a bottle of wine and racing out the door.
Floor six, apartment twenty six. The beauty that answered his stuttering knock was everything he'd hoped for and more. She invited him in, her voice all dark promise of an interesting night to come, and he barely managed to keep from tripping over his own feet as he stumbled in.
"So, we meet at last," she purred, her voice lower than he thought it would be. Her hips swayed with every step, drawing his eyes down to her generous curves as she led him into the dining room.
"You know, I really shouldn't be here," Daniel murmured, offering her the wine bottle. "I have a girlfriend after all."
"And yet you are still here," she offered, smile growing wider as she placed the bottle on the table, ducking into the kitchen to retrieve a pair of wine glasses. "Or would you rather eat first?" she asked, gesturing grandly to the table. Only now did he notice the chicken on the table, golden brown and covered in almonds and orange slices.
Hazel eyes lit up. "Why not both?" he chirped, slipping into a seat. "It looks amazing," he offered, gesturing to the utensils on the table. With a graceful motion, she twisted the cork out of the bottle, pouring each of them a small serving before joining him at the other end of the table.
An hour later, she was alone. Daniel was still there, but only in form. She licked her fingers, enjoying the taste of bitter almonds on the tips of her claws. Bicorne and Chichievache were rare these days, despite how plentiful their food sources had become. Women and men both tended to be prone to cheating these days, and that was what her kind fed on.
That doesn't mean she didn't want to change her eating habits. But when she found a possible, she stalked him. Teasing him, until even if they had a wife they were willing to come to her.
"So," she purred, lifting the man over her shoulder to pull him to the larder. "This one will last me a month if I stretch him. Gives the complex time to empty his apartment and approve a new tenant. In another month after that, I should have new prey to lure in." A giggle issued from her throat. "Well, a girl needs to watch her figure."
She smiled, all panther fangs as she opened the fridge, carefully folding the body into the empty unit. But not before drawing a claw down his arm, delicately slicing off a piece of flesh. "Mmmmm, infidelity. Nothing quite like that taste."
