The phenomenon of “animal language” appearing in their dreams left the trio of the Supernatural Research Club both puzzled and curious. Was this just a weird shared dream? Or had their ability upgrade brought about a new way of connecting?
“I dreamed last night that my little turtle was complaining to me, saying it wanted a bigger swimming pool—with an automatic massage function, preferably!” Wang Meili rubbed her sleepy eyes as she excitedly shared with Lin Xiaoqiang and Azhai.
“You guys dreamed it too? So it’s not just my weird dream!” Azhai widened his eyes. “I dreamed my goldfish was discussing philosophy with me and asked, ‘What is the meaning of life?’”
Lin Xiaoqiang chimed in, “I dreamed that the leader of the stray cats in our neighborhood, ‘Black Beard,’ actually opened a ‘Cat Troubles Counseling Center,’ seriously helping other cats with their emotional problems.”
As the three exchanged their dream stories, they found a common thread: whether pets or familiar animals, they all communicated clearly in human language in the dream, even discussing wishes and profound thoughts.
“What’s going on? Have we really evolved to communicate with animals in our dreams?” Wang Meili’s eyes grew wide in disbelief.
“Maybe it’s the residual effect of that abnormal energy,” Azhai speculated thoughtfully. “After all, we all came into contact with that strange energy.”
Lin Xiaoqiang frowned, recalling Dr. Klaus’s research notes. There was no mention of dream communication in the data, but his intuition told him this was no coincidence.
To figure out this strange phenomenon, the Supernatural Research Club decided to conduct a “collective dream experiment.” They agreed to fall asleep at the same time and carefully record every detail of their dreams.
The next morning, when they met again, the results were astonishing—they actually “met” each other’s pets in their dreams!
Wang Meili dreamed her turtle leisurely swimming in a huge pool, complaining about the cold water temperature; Azhai dreamed his goldfish was focused on reading in a library full of books; Lin Xiaoqiang dreamed “Black Beard” seriously counseling a heartbroken Persian cat.
Even more strangely, they seemed to sense each other’s presence within the dream.
Wang Meili said she heard Azhai’s goldfish discussing a book called Fish Life Philosophy; Azhai recalled seeing Lin Xiaoqiang softly comforting a crying Persian cat.
“This… this is unbelievable!” Wang Meili exclaimed. “We can actually communicate with each other’s pets in dreams!”
“Maybe this is a sign of our ability upgrade,” Lin Xiaoqiang guessed. “Perhaps our consciousness connects during sleep, forming some kind of ‘animal dream communication network.’”
“So what good is that?” Azhai asked skeptically.
Lin Xiaoqiang pondered for a moment. “Maybe it helps us better understand animals’ inner worlds. Perhaps… in dreams, animals reveal some important information.”
Just as the trio was trying to make sense of this new “ability,” Barbie City experienced an even stranger phenomenon.
Many residents reported unusual behavior from their pets—they would stare for long periods at empty corners, emitting low, uneasy growls as if seeing things invisible to human eyes.
“My dog barked wildly at the corner last night, eyes full of fear—but there was nothing there!” a young mother anxiously sought help from the Supernatural Research Club.
“My cat too, trembling under the bed all day like it was terrified!” an elderly solitary man said with worry.
The animals’ inexplicable fear stirred a mysterious unease in Lin Xiaoqiang’s heart. He sensed that Barbie City’s peace was about to be shattered—some hidden supernatural threat was quietly approaching.
And perhaps their strange “ability upgrades” were meant to prepare them for this unknown challenge.
What do these abnormal animal behaviors foretell?
What new threats will Barbie City face?
Can the trio of the Supernatural Research Club use their new abilities to successfully confront the disaster ahead?
The story is about to enter a whole new chapter—!
