The truth is what stalls.

Pride is what sits outside.

Disloyalty is what offers a quick ride.

Love is what was buried all those years ago.

Hate is what everyone refused to forgo.

The rain settled in ever so cold,

"The sun died" is what we were told.

Those clouds tucked us in at night...

And hope could never take flight.

When you hear those solemn bell rings...

That's when darkness sings.
