I once had a friend, 

Who stood in his doorway, 

After I left his house. 

Long toes peeking from sharp corners, 

And glass doors.

This friend, he was wiser than me, 

Had a few more years of practice than me, 

Was stronger than me. 

His hands, weathered by -

Music how sweet the sound...

He was in love with the moon 

How beautiful was she to him...

Couldn't stop thinking about her edges.

How she softened his...

And then I came along,

Young and full of a dull vibrancy, 

Like that of a candle's glow. 

With a desire so strong and touch so tender...

And I did leave not with a bang but a whimper. 

And I'd like to think some of my edges

Were softened too...
