Eddie looked out the window as the sun was setting. Eddie was thinking whether or not he should go see his son for his anniversary. Perhaps he wouldn’t. .
Eddie had not been himself the last year. He was tired. He had been so the last year.
He rubbed his eyes and once again thought about going to his sons anniversary. Or not.
He decided to leave it to chance.
Eddie took off his star and placed it on the table. Then he grabbed his Smith & Wesson from the holster. For the first time in a year his hands were steady as he cleaned the gun. He checked that it had the right amount of bullets. Eddie then looked down along the barrel of his Smith & Wesson before he spun the barrel and pulled the trigger.
